Thursday- 2:8- Addition and subtraction equations
Friday- 2:9- Problem Solving and Morning Work Quiz
Math Vocabulary List 1-2: Test Sept. 27th
1. addends- numbers added together to give a sum.
2. factors- numbers that are multiplied to give a product.
3. product- the answer to a multiplication problem.
4. sum- the answer when adding 2 or more addends.
5. Commutative (Order) Property of Addition- Numbers can be added in any order and the sum will be the same
6. Associative (Grouping) Property of Addition- Numbers can be grouped in any way and the sum will be the same.
7. Identity (Zero) Property of Addition- The sum of zero and any number is that number.
8. fact family- a group of related facts using the same numbers.
9. round- to replace a number with another number that tells ABOUT how many or how much.
10. estimate- to give a number or answer that tells ABOUT how many or how much.
11. equation- a number sentence that uses an equal sign to show that the value to its left is the same as the value to its right.

Your child needs to read aloud at least 20 minutes to a parent or older sibling reading a book in his/her reading range once a week. STUDENTS MAY READ AN AR BOOK, LIBRARY BOOK, OR READ A BOOK ONLINE. Online resources are myOn.com and Tumblebooks.com. Parents will initial the day the child reads. If Tuesday if not a good day at your home for this, please choose another day that works for you. YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE A TREAT FOR READING EACH WEEK! J
