FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST - MANAGED MOTORWAY IMPACT M4 JUNCTION 19-20 AND M5 JUNCTION 15-17
I am writing to confirm that we have now completed our search for the information, which you requested on 4th April 2016.
The information is listed below in response to each of your five specific questions.
1)The information requested is exempted under section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act since Highways England has a demonstrable commitment to publish the requested information ; the information in question is shortly to be published in a report on the M4/M5 project. Some information requested is already publically available at the Department for Transports’ on-line publication ;

3)The information requested on the cost of the M4/M5 works is £85,952,401.54
4)The information requested regarding contractors; Skanska is the contractor responsible for maintenance of the Smart Motorway sections of the M4 and M5 and Balfour Beatty as the Regional Technology Maintenance Contractor maintains the technology i.e. electronic signs.
5)The information requested regarding remuneration of contractors ; whilst the commercial terms of Highways Englands’ contractors as listed in (4) above are commercially sensitive, neither Highways England nor our service provider Skanska generates revenue from enforcement cameras. In fact they are an additional cost to our schemes as we pay the Police for their installation and maintenance.
