TOURNAMENT EXPLANATION!
The tournament is split into two categories; Bucks and Bounty. It is entirely up to you which category you enter. Archers in both categories will have a very similar experience to that at a standard GB shoot, the only difference between the categories is that the Bucks will receive monetary rewards and the Bounty category will receive trophies.
The tournament consists of three rounds; 720, H2H, and 1440.
Archers will receive points based on position in each round and these will be totalled to give archers their final position.
For example, if you come first in every round you will have a total of 3 points and will finish first with the lowest number of points. Ties will be decided based on position in the 1440, followed by the 720 in the unlikely event that there is an absolute tie in the 1440.
For the H2H there will be a 64th place cut-off, therefore, if you rank 65th or lower in the 720 you will not shoot in the H2H. Instead you will be given 65 points.
Any archer does not wish to take part in the H2H MUST inform the judges by the end of the 720 round.
Any archers who choose not to enter the H2H will all be ranked below those who shot the H2H and will all receive the same number of points. For instance, if there are 34 archers shooting the H2H, those archers who did not shoot the H2H would all receive 35 points.
Should any number of archers not wish to shoot the H2H, the cut-off position will be extended by that number. For Example if two people in the top 64 didn’t want to shoot then 65th and 66th position would then shoot.
The H2H round will be shot with the sets system for Recurve and the Other Category and 15-arrow score total for Compounds. Those in the "Other" category will shoot at 70m, as they will have done in the 720.
The division of Bucks and Bounty will not be considered for the H2H, that is, for instance, Bucks Male Compound archers and Bounty Male Compound archers will shoot against one another. The points will then be awarded with consideration of the division entered, i.e. A Bounty archer ranked 5th overall, but placed highest in the Bounty division will receive 1 point.
Those who enter the Bucks division will pay £50, those who enter Bounty pay £28. The £22 difference will be put into a pot, respective of category, and the total pot will be divided up between the archers who finish in the top 40%, respective of position. For example, if we have 20 archers in a category then that category will have a pot of £440. The top 8 archers in that category will receive rewards ranging from 1st with £127 to 8th with £31.
This system means that even if you don't feel confident of getting on the podium you may still receive a monetary reward.
After the closing date Bucks entries will NOT be accepted and NO refunds will be given. This is due to the complexity of this event. The Bucks or Bounty style will not make any difference to eligibility for Records or awards to be claimed.
Archers in the Bounty categories who are to receive awards will be presented with their trophies in the awards ceremony, which will be held after close of shooting on Sunday.
As regards monetary rewards, the top 3 in each Bucks category will be presented during the awards ceremony. Those archers outside the top 3 who are to receive a monetary reward may collect and sign for them after the awards ceremony. If this is inconvenient for anyone then the cheques will be posted to the address on the entry form, with the cost of postage deducted.
We do not have junior or cadet categories for the Bucks division; however everyone is eligible to shoot in their senior category. Under 18's may be eligible for monetary rewards, subject to ratification from AGB. Should it turn out that we cannot provide cash prizes for U18's vouchers of the same value will be awarded instead.
And remember the more who choose to enter the Bucks division, the more people receive monetary rewards and the higher those rewards are.
