BOB’S DREAM

Boom! There was a huge explosion as the time travelling car blew up again. Bob Jackson groaned. How many times did he have to make a time travelling car until one actually worked? Each one took at least two years to build and first, he had to travel to America to get a time travellers licence.

Bob was a scientist and his dream was to make the first time travelling car. He could make millions of dollars just by selling one! But first he had to design it, build it and make sure that it worked. He had designed it dozens of times and none had been successful. But soon, his dream was about to come true...

He went and visited his friend, Frank. They had a cup of tea and some biscuits and talked about the old days, when everything worked. After a while, they said their goodbyes and Bob went home. He went into the garage, trying to think of another design. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head...

He spent all night drawing up the designs. At dawn, he rushed down to the shops and bought what he needed. He then had to go to America to get a time travellers licence so that he could make another car. He asked and Barack Obama said “Yes you can!” so Bob got himself a licence and flew home.

It took Bob three years to make the car. During that time, there were a lot of things happening. The Russians had declared war on the Australians, so Bob would have to hide the plans (and the car) somewhere safe so that the Russians wouldn’t find it and copy his ideas. He hid it in the perfect place, an underground mine.

Also, his time traveller’s licence expired in a month, so he would have to hurry. Luckily, he only had to make one thing to make and he was finished. Unfortunately for Bob, it was the perumbulic merimbulator, the most advanced part of the car.

Bob was able to make the perumbulic merimbulator using only an empty Milo tin, a mattress spring and a whole lot of electricity. “Pure skill!” he said to himself, smiling.

A week later, Bob showed the car to the American government. They were very impressed. Bob showed them how it worked. “The car has to reach 150 km/h and then it will zoom back in time.” Bob said proudly

The government offered Bob $20 million for the car, but he said no because he thought it would mean a lot of publicity for making the first time travelling car and he would never get any peace. So Bob rode back in his car and fixed up all the things that had gone wrong in his life.

So Bob Jackson lived happily ever after, knowing that he had achieved his goal.
