Milwaukee, WI – March 9, 2016 - The Dominican Center and partners will challenge the mayoral, aldermanic and county executive candidates with hard questions concerning unemployment, vacant lots, violence and a variety of issues that plague 53206. All are welcome to this political forum on Saturday April 2, 2016at North Division High School. This is an opportunity to voice questions and concerns, and determine which candidate will join us as we work toward racial and economic equity.

Why:Did you know that 53206 ischaracterizedas one of the most poverty stricken zip codes in the nation, and is considered the worse place to raise a black male? It takes an entire villageofcommunity members toeffectivelychange our current social and economicsituation. Let's start by determining who our elected officials are and if he or she is qualified to serve as our leaders. Access to voting registration will also be available for all community members.

Vision:BNCP is a key program of the White HouseNeighborhood Revitalization Initiative(NRI), an interagency strategy launched in 2010 by the Obama Administration. NRI engages the Urban Affairs and Economic Mobility office of the White House Domestic Policy Council and the Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Justice and Treasury. NRI aligns federal investments in neighborhoods that struggle with the interrelated challenges of concentrated poverty, high rates of crime, low-performing schools, inadequate access to housing and healthcare and the absence of economic vitality.
