CPM PTA Meeting Minutes

Principal’s Report:

-Field trips galore

-Thank you for this board for all you have done to benefit your kids and all kids

-Thank you to the incoming board

-5th grade families- June1st principals from East Shore and Harborside

-End of the year recognition: Erin O’Brien- teacher of the year, Pat Taddei- para of the year, John Morse- parent of the year

-PTA Appreciation Day: finalize a date for volunteer appreciation morning

-NWEA: winter benchmark- highest grades 3-5 in reading and math in Milford. Spring not done yet, best attendance rate in district

President’s Report:

-Thank you to Kelly and Circe: plant sale raised over 1,000, left overs donated to Garden Club

- Buddy bench- too complicated, black top painting- math themed activities, redo maps,

-Books for summer reading- each student will get a book for the their grade in the fall- Ms. Minichello will do this, not exceed $4.00 per book

-Black top priority- will come out during the summer

-T-shirt Spirit Day- each class will have its own, staff will have own color. Money would comefrom money that was allocated but not used.

Shelby Keller makes a motion not to exceed $600 to purchase T-shirts for Spirit Day. Mary O-Dell second the motion.

Krista Fabian made a motion to allocate not to exceed $1200 for summer books. Kym Ward seconds.

Tracy Benedetti made a motion to not exceed $800 for blacktop, Penny DeFreitas seconds motion.

Treasurer’s Report: Kristie McGonigle

Starting Balance: $31,728.43

Paid Out: $7,076.55

Deposited: $5,092.30

Drama Club Balance Adjustment: $4,780.57

5th Grade Celebration Adjustment:$4,101.20

Current Balance on Account: 20,862.41

A lot of money in the account- have a balance for next year

-Krista Fabian made a motion to accept the budget for 2014-2015. Penny DeFreitas seconds the motion.

PTA Council Meeting: Christine Prete

-Presentation for Mr. tom Finn- Lifetime Achievement Award: 38 years
