CSBI Inclusive Community Garden Purpose & Policies
Sponsored by the Cleveland County disAbility Coalition, the Community Services Building, Inc., Sooner Success, and the Norman United Way.
This is an agreement between the Cleveland County disABILITY Coalition, the Community Services Building, Sooner Success, and the Norman United Way (further referred to as Partner Agencies), and the Community Gardeners & volunteers.
I. Purpose and Scope
The Purpose of these policies is to clearly identify the roles and responsibilities of each party as they relate to this Community Garden.
In particular, the Policies of the Community Garden are intended to:
· Enhance the Mission and goals of the Community Garden project in our community.
· Provide an all inclusive Community Garden that is open to everyone in our community who want to improve their health and wellbeing by growing their own food.
· Promote an all inclusive Community Garden that will welcome everyone, both able and disabled, to share the fun and success of gardening.
· Create partnerships between community service agencies and the public.
· Will be fully accessible for everyone; Agencies, individuals, and families are welcome.

II. Background
The CSBI Inclusive Community Garden is partnering with the Community Service Building, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not for profit agency, who will handle the income & finances of the CSBI Inclusive Community Garden.
The Cleveland County disABILITY Coalition with the support of the Norman
United Way, and Sooner Success are committed to enriching our community
by fully supporting this Community Garden as we all grow together.
III. Responsibilities Under the CSBI Inclusive Community Garden plan.
1. Community Garden Committee: provide the garden site, water, store
room, and build the garden boxes, provide garden soil & compost,
some basic garden tools, and security fence.
2. Community Gardeners:
a. Pay a per year fee of $50 per garden box to help cover the cost of water & maintenance.
b. Read and agree to follow the CSBI Inclusive Community Garden Rules and
Regulations (found on Website or at CSBI business office, 1183 East Main St., Norman).
c. Sign & agree to the policies of the CSBI Inclusive Community Garden Committee and return to CSBI office with $50 annual Garden Box fee.
d. Purchase own plants, fertilizers, mulch, garden stakes & cages, and tools.
e. Plant your own garden box and tend your garden box throughout the season.
THERE WILL BE NO STAFF TO MAINTAIN YOUR GARDEN BOX/BOXES THROUGHOUT THE GROWING SEASON.
f. Harvest your own Garden Box/Boxes and do what you like with your harvests. MUST clean out your Garden Box at end of season (Fall/winter).
g. THIS WILL BE AN ORGANIC GARDEN…SO PESTICIDES & FUNGICIDES ARE FORBIDDEN. Organic products should be approved by the Community Garden Committee if needed.
IV. It is Mutually Understood and Agreed by and between the Parties that:
1. The CSBI Inclusive Community Garden Committee and partnering Agencies are not responsible for injury or lost or stolen items on the Community Garden site.
2. Participation of gardeners & volunteers in the Community Garden program outlined in this agreement is completely voluntary.
3. All parties will be responsible for communication that would modify the terms and conditions of this agreement.
4. This Agreement may be canceled by either party with 30 days advance written notice.
V. Effective Date and Signatures
This agreement shall be effective upon the signature of the CSBI Inclusive Community Garden Committee or CSBI and the Gardener/volunteer authorized officials. It shall be in force from Season to Season with payment.
Both parties indicate agreement with the Policies by their signatures.
