Job Purpose
To provide cross-college technical and development build and support for all web-based activity.
Key Responsibilities
- To play an active role in liaising with cross college departments to collate requirements and specifications to provide web or systems integration solutions to solve issues and problems.
- To develop and technically maintain the range of college websites, internal business systems and the College content management systems as appropriate
- To liaise with the College IT services infrastructure team with regard to server space and configuration, database locations and access and back up scheduling.
- To play an active role in the IT Steering Group.
- To keep up to date with new technologies and future advancement and proactively identify new development applications.
- To actively look for new solutions and create new ideas.
- To monitor trends in systems and web development.
- To create and optimise images, videos, sound files for use on College websites as required.
- To ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with W3C, legislation, accessibility standards and that all web developments are fully functional across a range of browsers and devices.
- To participate in any training and development judged by manager to be necessary for this post and to take responsibility for one’s own professional development.
- To liaise with the College Corporate Designer to incorporate current College branding into all web developments and develop the appropriate look and feel of the College Group websites.
- To analyse website performance and campaigns.
- To provide a professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- To ensure that quality standards are set, monitored and reviewed within the section.
- To demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing demands in personal, sectional or the Colleges workload.
- To take responsibility for ones own professional development and continually update as necessary.

- Proven experience of integrating web applications with back office systems
- Experience of working with relational database systems - SQL Server and MySQL
- Experience working with web services (REST, SOAPetc.)
- Experience using c# programming language
- Experience using Visual Studio
- Comprehensive Image Editing skills using Adobe Photoshop
- Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies.
- Excellent problem solving skills and techniques with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience creating components, plugins and modules for common Content Management Systems
- Experience of using Version Control Software
