Membership Director
The Chamber is a membership driven organization; therefore a strong, growing membership is vital to the successes of the organization. The Membership Manager is responsible for the development of the Chamber Membership through the recruitment of new members and retaining of existing members. Development of the membership base results from a strong platform of Chamber programs. The Membership Manager is responsible for assessing the changing needs of the business community and then creating and maintaining programs that serve these needs. The Membership Manager also manages the Chamber’s technology needs.
Job Description

  • Responsible for membership retention, keep retention with each month’s renewals at 85%
  • It is also the MM duties to recruit new members. Set a goal for each year.
  • Membership accounts receivables are kept current by working with the Bookkeeper
  • The MM supervises the Ambassador Program and is in charge of implementing a program that is beneficial and effective.
  • MM works coordinates the Drugs Don’t Work Program, including recruiting the program when selling memberships and administration of program.
  • The MM uses Chamber Master to maintain a database of members (current and past); is responsible for billing and processing annual dues and event fees; keeping track of programs and mailing list; and to run reports
  • The MM is the main contact when members call the Chamber for services and serves the various needs and requests in compliance with the Chamber’s policies.
  • The MM uses communication/ marketing tools to stay in touch with the membership, promote membership and to keep the community engaged with what is happening with the business community. Tools include the Chamber’s newsletter, weekly email, quarterly business report and web site (including member login to update data for online business directory), as well as, print, radio, social media, speaking engagements, participating in community events and attending community meetings involving membership and it’s benefits.
  • The MM plans and promotes the different member events each month or as needed.

  • Extroverted, personable, and adept at networking and developing relationships.
  • Highly motivated person that enjoys highly detailed work, event planning, and obtaining memberships
  • Professionally attired and articulate to represent the Chamber on a daily basis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferable
  • Proficient with Facebook, MailChimp, and Web-site updates (WordPress).
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
