From now on, motorway users may initiate road-use authorisation purchase though the Internet for trucks, buses, long vehicles (D2, D3 and D4 categories) and motorcycles (D1) as well, in addition to passenger cars (D1 category) via the website. To purchase virtual authorisation for road use, motorists only need internet access and a bank card suitable for online transactions. 1-day, 4-day, weekly and monthly vignettes can also be ordered in advance. The system automatically saves and stores all confirmation vouchers, making their identification easy in case of future complaints. The price of the service is HUF 100 per vignette.
The joint development of SMMC and PPO.hu – “The Most Promising E-Business of 2006” – offers a long-awaited solution for customers with internet access and a bank card. Travellers can purchase authorisation in a convenient and safe way either 5 minutes or days before departure. All data are entered by the user through an easy-to-use interface. The licence plate number and the validity period specified during the transaction are saved and stored in SMMC's database, allowing authorisation control to be carried out on motorways on the basis of registration numbers, without having to stop vehicles.
Service description
To use the service, travellers need to provide the vehicle’s licence plate number, the type of vignette they want to purchase and the start of validity on the website. There is no need to deposit money on a specific account. After providing the required information, users pay the price of the web-vignette using their bank card, through a safe interface operated by Investech Kft. and OTP Bank. Due to the newest developments, users can purchase 1-day, 4-day, weekly and monthly vignettes for D2, D3 and D4 category vehicles and motorcycles (D1) as well, in addition to D1 category vehicles. The system uses the same method as the mobile recharge service provided by PPO.hu, a business awarded by the Internet industry in 2006. Following the transaction performed using a bank card, users will receive their invoices via postal service. For registered clients additional functions make purchase more comfortable (“Favourite licence numbers” menu item, vouchers of previous transactions etc.).

MOBILE PHONE (BANK CARD)
As of 25 April 2008, the range of channels for purchasing virtual motorway vignettes will be further extended. Owing to the new iziShop service, developed by Hedz Kft., users can purchase any kind of vignettes via mobile phone, using their bank card. This is the first service on the market being provided without charging convenience fee on the customers. Vignettes can also be ordered in advance through the service.
Owing to the joint efforts of Hedz Kft. and SMMC Ltd, from 25 April motorists can use a new service for purchasing virtual motorway vignettes. The iziSHOP service, which is based on transactions performed using a mobile phone and a bank card, makes the whole range of vignettes (1-day, 4-day, weekly, monthly) available for clients. To use this GPRS-based sales channel, motorists only need to install an application on their mobile phones by sending a text message. After installation, the iziSHOP purchase function will be added to the menu of the phone. The new function allows simple and fast vignette purchase.
A special feature of the service, which is independent from mobile service providers, is that the amount users pay for their vignettes will not be deducted from their mobile account, as they pay via bank card. Hedz provides this safe electronic sales channel, which can be used with Visa or Master Card, in partnership with Inter-Europa Bank. Another benefit of the system is that it is available for foreign travellers as well, who can use the service in the same way and with the same conditions as Hungarian motorists. Right from its start-up, the service will be available in Hungarian, English and German languages. More languages will also be available in the future. It should be noted that no convenience charge is added to the price of virtual vignettes. The price of the transactions performed through the system is less than that of a standard-tariff text message – in fact, depending on the client's subscription, it can even be free of charge.
To use the system, first you have to install iziSHOP’s Java application.You can install the program by sending the password “iziSHOP” in a text message to the 06 70 70 60500 number (standard tariff), then follow the instructions. Vignettes can also be ordered in advance through the service.
