INTERMEDIATE 4-H RABBIT JUDGING CONTEST

St. Paul, MN (08/25/11) - Every year, Minnesota 4-H’ers gain valuable experience in judging rabbits. Participants need to learn parts of the rabbit, individual breed characteristics, meat qualities, general disqualifications, and reasons to justify placement. The judging experience truly helps 4-H members base their decisions on sound reasons and implement several new life skills. This year 17 teams of 4-H youth participated in the 4-H Rabbit Judging contest.

The intermediate division includes 4-H members who have completed 6th – 8th grade.

Carlton County placed first with a total of 1156 points. Dakota County placed second with 1099 total points.

Katie Siltanen of Carlton County took home the high individual honors with Anna Nelson of Chisago County placing second. Katie Maxa of Beltrami / Freeborn County placed third overall.
