Annual General Meeting
Season 2012
Playing Field Pavilion - Sunday November 20th 2011 11.00am
Thirteen members were in attendance – Stephen & Gareth Kent, Stephen, Jonathon & Oliver Revett, Peter Scott, Ashley Inwood, Percy Bulsara, Jon Dale, John Rowland, Ken Smart, John Loveday and Tony Smart.
Apologies - Neil Parkinson, Duncan Hobbs sent apologies for absence.
Chairman’s Report – the chairman briefly reported another mediocre season with a good spirit within the club and plenty of voluntary help in cutting the outfield and wicket preparation.
Secretary’s Report – the secretary similarly reported an average season with some poor results.
Playing 16 fixtures – winning 4, drawn 1 losing 11 with 5 fixtures being cancelled and four others
being rearranged. The reliability of some clubs still being suspect?
The club beat Wicken for the Blows Brothers Cup by 9 wickets but unfortunately The Pop Bedford Cup fixture against Brentwood LP CC was again cancelled twice by the visitors for the second consecutive year.
The season ended with its annual Presentation / Buffet Evening at the “Spice Lounge”, Littleport with 23 members and friends in attendance.
Cricketer of the Year – Steve Saberton, Batting – Duncan Hobbs, Bowling – Jon Dale, Catches – Duncan Hobbs, Fielding – Stephen Revett, Captains Award – Duncan Hobbs.
Ducks Award – Ashley Inwood
Treasurers Report
The treasurer reported a balance of £651.50, compared to £1,489.18 the previous season, a loss of £837.68. However the club had now paid off all loans totalling £1700 for the mower purchased the previous season.

Copies of the Balance sheet and Bank statements with receipts were available for all members – it was proposed by John Rowland, seconded by Percy Bulsara that the meeting accept the club’s financial statement for the season.
Election of Officers
As all officers were standing for re-election, it was proposed by Ken Smart and seconded by
John Rowland that all officers be elected en-bloc. This motion was passed unanimously.

It was also agreed to appoint a vice- captain. Stephen Revett being elected – proposed by John Rowland and seconded by Jon Dale.
Ground / Pavilion / Groundsman
John Loveday agreed to again supervise the preparation of the wicket and grass cutting, Stephen Revett and Peter Scott offered to help. Duncan Hobbs would also be approached.
Equipment / Kit
It was decided that new balls and a set of stumps were required.
Ken Smart stated that balls could be purchased from the league, this being enforced according to league rules...
Fixtures -
For 2012 season it was decided to apply to join the Mid-Norfolk Sunday League (West division)
After open discussion it was proposed by John Rowland and seconded by Jon Dale, this being passed unanimously.
This would provide 14 definite fixtures as each division had 8 teams.
Four likely opponents being Denver, Littleport, Narborough and Hockwold.
The league season starts the last Sunday of April through to the end of August, although extension to mid September was allowed.
As our normal fixture list covered 22 weekends – friendlies would be arranged on the spare dates.
Dates are reserved for the Blows Cup (Wicken) and The Bedford Cup (CAMRA).
It was agreed to play if possible – Wicken, CAMRA & Leverington with Wilburton and Wisbech 3rds also being possibilities.
Subscriptions / Match Fees / Fund Raising
It was agreed that Match Fees should remain the same at £10 per match and £5 for juniors, still with no club subscription.
Fund raising football cards would be available for selling on match days,
Any other business.
The secretary asked for volunteers for Scoring and / or collecting match fees.
Jonathon Revett kindly volunteered to score at some matches.
Percy Bulsara suggested a team member being nominated each week on a rota basis to collect match fees, this being agreed.
On joining the league the club will need a Child Protection Officer – Ashley Inwood had previously qualified and volunteered for re-training (course at Kings Lynn in January).
The club would also require a First Aid kit.
Storage and stability of the Score Board was discussed – it was hoped to find room in the “lock-up” and permanently secure the stand.
Pre-season work was needed for a general clear up, clean out the “lock-up” and possibly paint
the sight screens. This date would be set nearer the start of next season.
The covers sheeting needed repairing John L. would try to arrange.
The Parish Council was also to be approached for permission to install an outside tap (lockable)?
Stephen Kent was to speak to Pat Copeman, reference the Mole problem?
Stephen and Jonathon Revett volunteered to arrange a Quiz evening to raise funds for the club
sometime in the near future.
Presentation Evening
Next seasons Presentation Evening was provisionally booked for the first Friday in October.
