Early Childhood Resource Center Project Update
The Early Childhood Resource Center Project is currently under a state of transition. The contract will now fund public libraries to facilitate the availability and accessibility of early childhood materials. This collaboration with public libraries will create broader access of early childhood resources for parents, schools, and for all EEC initiatives, including the Massachusetts Family Network Program (MFN), the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP), Reach Out and Read, Community Partnerships for Children programs (CPCs), Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs), and individual early education and care programs, including informal caregivers and Family Child Care (FCC) systems.
The award process will be finished September 1, 2008. New Centers will need a period of time to enter resources into their catalog system before items will be available for loan. Please visit this site often for updates.
The Haverhill Public Library has been an ECRC for the past 16 years and was awarded a new contract. This site will remain open and resources are currently available for loan.
