Enclos Corp. Acquires ASI in a Strategic Alliance

EAGAN, MINN., Jan. 30, 2006 – Enclos Corp. has acquired certain assets of the company ASI (Advanced Structures Incorporated), a leader in the design and engineering of specialty structures and facades. Enclos has also hired most of ASI’s former employees, the majority of whom are designers and engineers. ASI will operate as a coordinated business unit of Enclos and serve the entire United States from its Los Angeles area office.

ASI (www.asidesign.com) is a design, engineering and design-build firm focusing on advanced building technologies, specializing in glass clad tension structures, lightweight and long span building systems, monumental skylights, rod/cable point supported glazing and cable net structures. The company was founded in 1991. ASI’s designs are characterized by exposed structure featuring refined craftsmanship, quality materials and high performance finishes. Over the years, the firm has worked with world renowned architects including, Skidmore Owings Merrill, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Gensler, Richard Rogers Partnership, HOK, Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo & Associates, Fentress Bradburn Architects, and Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates.

Enclos and ASI have worked together, in a strategic alliance, for more than a decade. The first major project Enclos and ASI completed together was the California State University Long Beach Pyramid. Since then, Enclos and ASI have partnered on the rotunda at San Jose Civic Center and on Seagerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County. Currently, Enclos and ASI are collaborating on the new cable wall at Oakland Cathedral in California and the cable net wall at Newseum in Washington, D.C. In the future, Enclos and ASI will collaborate on all projects having ASI design and engineering features.
