Chapter 1 Assessment Options
To conclude our study of cells and show your knowledge, choose one of the options below. All options are worth 20 points. Check your choice and obtain parent/guardian signature by ______.
_____ Option 1: Traditional test
This test will have matching and fill-in-the-blank questions. You will be asked to match 15 cell parts to their descriptions/functions. Also, you will be asked to fill in some cell parts to complete questions. Should you choose this option, the test will take place on ______.
_____ Option 2: Labeling test
This test will have a picture of both plant and animal cells. You will be asked to properly label the cell parts. Spelling must be correct for full credit. Should you choose this option, the test will take place on ______.
_____ Option 3: Board Game
Make a cell-themed board game that involves two or more players and showcases cell organelles and their functions. The game will be played in class, so be prepared with any necessary game pieces or dice. Should you choose this option, the game is due ______.
_____ Option 4: Travel Brochure
Design a travel brochure for a “CellCity,” in which cell parts are represented by appropriate city parts. Include information on all of the interesting sights a tourist should visit. This should be folded in thirds and have information on all six panels, just as a real travel brochure. It may be completed on the computer or by hand. Create a three-dimensional model of a cell with all its organelles. Use any materials that are NOT perishable/edible. Include labels or a key for each organelle.It could be a plant or an animal cell. Should choose this option, the model is due ______.

Create three artistic cell drawings by hand. One should be an animal cell, one a plant cell, and one of your choice (bacteria, or specialized cell like a nerve cell). GRADING
All options are worth 20 points.
Option 1: Traditional test
Each matching and each fill-in-the-blank item will be worth one point.
Option 2: Labeling test
Each label is worth 1 point. Half of a point will be deducted for each misspelling.
Options 3, 4, 5, and 6: Projects
Each of the project options will be scored based on the scale below.
