Purpose of Job:
To act as a liaison between the British Council and the local School; to manage the administration of the partner schools programme; and be the principal English & Vietnamese language interpreter between all stakeholders.
Context and Environment:
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
1. / To deliver and support the delivery of Customer Relations Services to internal and external stakeholders in order to meet customer needs and enable the British Council to meet its corporate objectives.
Standards / - Give accurate information on all courses offered by the British Council in Vietnam.
- Deal with specific enquiries or refer them to the appropriate person.
- Liase between British Council management and the local school to ensure clear communication.
- Use SAP to raise Purchase Orders and Goods Reciepts at the request of the Senior Teacher Partner Schools.
- Act as a translator for British Council presentations and seminars to parents.
- Act as a translator for British Council management and local school management meetings.
- Attend weekly meetings between the British Council and local teachers then prepare and distribute minutes
- Organise, schedule and attend all parents’ evenings collating relevant feedback from parents.
- Be a go to point between the local school, British Council operations manager and British Council teachers to confirm any schedule changes and any other relevant information.
2. / To assist teaching staff both inside and outside the classroom
Standards / - Assist with the production/preparation of resources and materials for the classroom teacher and transfer them from the language centres to the partner school
- Liaise with the local school to create class lists and organise these into registers before the start of the first lesson of each term.
- Ensure all teaching aids and materials are available at least 15 minutes before the start of lessons.
- Report technical issues to the relevant member of staff.
- Speak English as much as possible except when a child is distressed or in the case of serious behavioural issues.
- Assist teachers with setting up the classroom and with wall displays of chidren’s work.
- Document & pass on feedback from BC teachers on students (including: performance, behaviour and progress) to class teachers and parents.
- Keep a record of any feedback from parents regarding courses, teachers and students and pass on to the Partner School Senior Teacher/Coordinator.
-Organise observations between British Council teachers, local school teachers and teaching assistants.
- Arrange parent meetings and provide translation when needed.
3. / To be responsible and accountable for administration that needs to be completed in the programme
Standards / - Agree dates with the Senior Teacher to prepare reports.
- Create, keep up to date and print student reports and deliver them to the school.
- Maintain book stock and stationery, regularly check supplies and propose orders when needed.
- Record all books given to students.
- Maintain the noticeboard and select materials to display.
4. / Ensure corporate and local targets are met and standards observed
Standards / - There is a minimum of three face-to-face meetings per year to discuss performance. This includes the meetings to agree the PMPD and evaluate the year’s performance.
5 / To support all local marketing and promotional strategy (specific focus on YL).
Standards / - Assist on marketing and promoting off-site YL products/courses through notices, student competitions, and information leaflets.
- Organise the acvitivities, event at the school.
- Make students aware of related web sites / self-access software.
- Display posters in appropriate locations at the school to promote off site BC products on the notice boards.
- Translate any documents from English to Vietnamese that are to be given out to parents.

Partner Schools Senior Teacher, Partner school cooridinator and British Council Teachers. School principals, vice principals and teachers.
Other important Features or requirements of the job:
The postholder will be required to work Monday - Friday between 8.00am – 16.30pm in line with school working times.

Strong oral and written communication skills in English and excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Vietnamese. Skills including demonstrable competence in using Microsoft Office, including excel.
