Ms. McNeill’s Procedures

  1. Entering the classroom – Come in, get what you need to start class and sit down and begin working on FabFour or Bellwork. If you finish early, find something to keep you busy – read, challenge, check homework.
  2. Unprepared – You must trade a shoe in order to borrow a pencil from me; no negotiations! Extra paper is free and on the back bookcase, however, refusing to bring or obtain materials is considered insubordination.
  3. Bell on my desk – Stop, Look, Listen. Everything stops as there is something you need to know.
  4. Lost and Found – Located on the second shelf by the extra paper. If you lost something, look here; if you find something, put it here.
  5. Agenda – Everyday your agenda comes with you. The first day of the week we will fill it out for the entire week. If you are absent the first day of the week it’s your job to fill it out when you return.
  6. Absent – Check your agenda, if you need papers, the student of the week will pass them back to you. If they don’t, check the extra papers folder by the agenda.
  7. Homework – Must have correct heading and all papers must face the same direction. If you do not put your name on your paper, it will not be graded. I have a folder of no name papers you can check at any time you do not receive an assignment back.
  8. Late work – If work is not turned in when I call for it, it is considered late. Turn it into the tray labeled with your period on the shelves in the back of the room. Do not hand it in to me. All late receives half credit and will be in the gradebook by the end of the next week.
  9. Challenge – At times there will be a weekly challenge posted. It is usually the only extra credit I offer and can go into either the assessment or homework category – I’ll let you know;)
  10. Tardy – If you are tardy you must sign the tardy sheet. Your third tardy is considered a first offense.
  11. Passes Out – You have 3 passes out of my class per semester (half the year) given at my discretion. You will not be allowed to use them during whole group instruction or labs or during the first/last five minutes of class. You must fill out your agenda, I will sign it. You may not leave without an agenda.
  12. Student of the Week – This student will help me organize and pass out materials for class – located in the tray behind my desk. Each week this job will rotate and you are excused from FabFour or bell work for that week.
  13. Exiting the classroom – All items around floor and desk must be picked up and in order. You may stand behind your desk and straighten it when the bell rings. When the class is cleaned and quiet you will be dismissed. No passes will be given for slow dismissals.
