The priesthood preview is usually held in November for boys turning 12 with in the year

You work under the direction on the Bishop but these are the things we have provided in the past

Invitations- Create and deliver invites to Boys/ parents, Young men’s President, Deacons quorum

President, Valiant 11 teacher and the Bishopric.

Refreshments

5th Sunday-

It has been our wards tradition for the last 2 ½ years to give the teachers in primary a day off (not you or your counselors).

2 weeks before the 5th Sunday signups are given to the Young men and Young women for them to choose which class they would like to teach

The Wednesday prior to the Sunday take lessons to the Young men and women. If you give it out earlier they will lose it.

On Sunday have extra lessons printed so you can give them to those who forgot them

Prepare to teach because someone will not show up!

You will still be responsible of sharing time and singing time.

Scouts-

Pack Party is held on the 4th Friday at 6:00. It is important to have someone from your presidency there.

Get a schedule from den leaders for 3 months so you are aware of what is going on and check to see how they are doing often. Do the same with Activity days.

Record keeping-

Receipts are turned in to you for anything with in your organization. You sign the reimbursement form and turn it in to a member of the Bishopric.

It is a good idea to keep track of new children in primary. Have the secretary write down their name and address so you can go visit.

Primary Preview-

In November the Nursery children who are 3 or are going to be 3 before Jan come down to primary for Sharing time and Singing time. This will help them get use to sitting for longer periods of time.

In October we made home visits to those coming to primary so they would be excited about coming with the big kids. We tried to make it a positive experience.

It is a good idea to have their future teacher sitting with them.

Primary program

To close out the lessons for the year a primary program is presented by the children in sacrament. Primary programs are normally held anytime after August. The program includes songs learned during the year, scriptures and themes that are included from the yearly outline from the general primary presidency. The program is written by the ward primary presidency and approved by the Bishop. This is one of the best missionary experiences. We have several children in our ward invite family members and friends who are less active or members of other faiths.

Delegation

It is wise to trust and rely on others to fulfill their callings. It gives them an opportunity to learn and develop their strengths and so that you are not overwhelmed. Choose someone with in your presidency to be over Scouts and senior primary. Another person to be over Activity Days and Nursery. And some else to be over music and Junior Primary. Give your counselors opportunities to pray with you regarding names for positions within their stewardship.

Most importantly follow the promptings that you receive from the Holy Ghost. And Love the Children with all your Heart because Primary might be the only place they feel loved and important.
