Canadian Program Certification - Form 205 - Animation

This application form is to be used for Canadian program certification of Live Action and Continuous Action Animated productions (including domestic productions and international co-ventures).

Where more than 50% of the program duration consists of live action content, please complete Form 206 - Live Action instead.

Filing the application

File electronically via My CRTC Account by attaching the application to the Cover Page. My CRTC Account allows you to securely submit documents to the Commission with a user ID and password.

1.1

The following four requirements are mandatory in order for the Commission to process your application:

  1. The principal photography has started.
  2. All key creative personnel are under signed contract.
  3. The committed budgets are in place.
  4. The production company is owned and controlled by Canadians.

Licensees are not required to apply for such certification or submit production information for such productions unless the 150% drama credit is requested, or unless the Commission requests that licensees do so.

APPENDIX 3 - Proof of citizenship:

Proof of citizenship is required for all producer and producer personnel as well as all key creative positions for Drama productions (categories 7a) to 7g)), which may be eligible to obtain a 150% time credit.Proof of citizenship may be required for any and all other applications. Service costs

Service costs include all costs that are incurred for services provided in respect of the making of the production. This includes: costs for development, story, stock footage and music rights, non-key creative personnel, all producer positions (other than producer and co-producer), production staff, all production labour, all rentals, transportation, shipping, customs and communications, animals, video studio facilities, video remote technical facilities, second unit crew, completion guarantee, unit publicity and amortization (in the case of a series).
