Because of the damage and power outages from Hurricane Matthew, school was cancelled on Monday, October 10th. The make-up day will be October 31st. It is no longer a teacher workday.

Fall Festival Games Volunteers - HELP NEEDED!!

There are still plenty of fun opportunities to help with the games at Fall Festival. The time slots last for about 45 minutes each, and it's a great way to spend some time with other Lacy parents and students.To volunteer, please join the Fall Festival Hub so that you can access the Games Volunteers sign-up. INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL PICTURE RETAKES ARE TOMORROW!

Picture retakes will befrom 8:30am-12:30pm. If your child missed school on the original picture day, they will have their picture taken tomorrow (Thursday). Additionally, if you ordered a picture package and are unhappy with the picture, your child's picture can be remade (you should have already received your child's packet - check their book bag if you have not). Please send the original picture package back in with your child tomorrow. Extra order forms are available in the office. Cultural Arts: Visiting Artist

Cultural Arts encourages you to take a history walk up the 3rd grade stairwell and discover our mural expansion by artist Bren Bataclan. Last week he returned for his second of three artist-in-residence visits - Remember commission pieces are available - ask for the "Lacy discount” at or visit

FALL CLOTHING DRIVE

The Community Outreach Committee is getting ready for the Lacy Fall Clothing Drive. We are looking for donations ofgently usedfall/winter clothing (sizes 3 -16), shoes, coats, hats and gloves as well asnewpacks of underwear, socks and camisoles. We cannot accept spring/summer clothing, pajamas or worn underwear or socks. Don't forget your middle schoolers have clothes that will fit our 4th and 5th graders! To make a donation, bag and label clothing by gender and size. Drop off items in morningcarpool between October 24th-28th. Clothes will be distributed from the stage on Wednesday,November 2nd. If you wish for your child to receive clothes, please fill out the form in the Wednesday folder and return it to your child's teacher byThursday, October 27th. One form per family. Lacy STEM Fair is January 18th-19th

Hello, Lacy Lions! Are you ready?! It’s time to rev up your STEM engines and start thinking about your science projects! Categories: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Earth and Environment. Need ideas? ScienceBuddies.org is a great site! Experiment and Engineering project winners (3rd-5th) will move on to the NC Region 3A Science and Engineering Fair! Remember: Good question and background research, Hypothesis, Methods or experimental design (don’t forget replicate measurements!), Results and data analysis (tables, graphs, pictures, words…), Conclusion and further analysis (what does it mean?). The Beautification Committee Needs Your Help - Adopt an Area
