Person specification for Pioneer Priest, Dyffryn Clwyd

The successful candidate will be Ordained within the Anglican Communion and have a proven ability of working with Young People and Families. He/She will have served her/his Title within the Anglican Communion and feel called to specialize and develop Youth, Children and Family Ministry at an exciting time in the Church in Wales.

From initial ministerial experience the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of:

1. A living and lively relationship with God and Scripture, has a strong Christian faith which totally informs and impacts their day to day living

2. Pioneering Leadership – “making things happen”

Communicates a clear vision, generates innovative ideas, sees the bigger picture, enables others to achieve and develop their skills. He/She will also be willing to work flexibly across the Mission Area.

3. Sets high standards, personally and for others, ensuring understanding of the context, decision making whilst achieving results.

4. Empowering communities – team work and building relationships.

Is proactive in building collaborative relationships with individuals and both building and working as part of the Mission Area team demonstrating interpersonal sensitivity in their interactions with others

5. Representation and networking. Able to influence effectively by persuasion and negotiation

7. Communication skills including language. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good communication skills via the medium of English. The ability to communicate in Welsh would be desirable but not essential and to be able to make effective presentations in a variety of contexts.

8. Problem Solving.Can analyse the important aspects of a problem or issue and develop practical and high quality solutions

9. Adaptability. Able to be effective in different surroundings (place and time) with variousage groups (children, youth and adults).

10. Qualifications/experience.

The successful candidate will be Ordained with Title served.They will be able to demonstrate significant experience in children’s, youth and family ministry including experience of beginning new initiatives.Youth/children’s work and theological qualifications are required.

11. Commitment to growth.

• Is committed to ongoing training, growth and development not only professionally but in personal Spiritual journey

• In consultation with the Mission Area Leader and Chapter to identify and undertake training to develop existing skills and develop new skills pertinent to the role

• Engagement with a personal Spiritual mentor/director is highly desirable

12. UK driving licence and own car.

13. A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate
