PANERA BREAD AND THREE LOCAL CHARITIES COME TOGETHER TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER THIS OCTOBER THROUGH THE SALE OF PINK RIBBON BAGELS

PITTSBURGH, PA – September 27, 2013 – “Come Together for a Cause” with Panera Bread to raise money for Breast Cancer by purchasing Pink Ribbon Bagels during the month of October. The 29 Pittsburgh area Panera Bread bakery-cafes will donate 100% of the proceeds on October 1st and a portion of the proceeds October 2nd-31st to The Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation (YWBCAF), Magee Women’s Research Institute & Foundation, and The Cancer Caring Center. For the past five years, YWBCAF was the recipient of all the funds raised through the “Go Pink” Pink Ribbon bagel campaign. This year Panera Bread and YWBCAF wanted to “come together for a cause” with some other charities in hopes of making a bigger impact on the Pittsburgh market.

This is the fifth year the Pittsburgh area Panera Bread bakery-cafes are supporting the patient navigator programs through the sale of the Pink Ribbon Bagels.

During the months of September and October the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation is the recipient of the Operation Dough Nation canisters in each of the Western Pennsylvania bakery-cafes. also.
