Imp Club Meeting Minutes

June 25, 2017

Attendees:

Ken Kinsey, Robin Bunting, Sarah Muscarella, Serge Beaudoin, Ed Mazza, Cindy Hunt, Mary Hill, Mike Dunphy, Jennifer Jewell, Michelle, Rick Adamson

Meeting called to order at 7:05

Approved minutes from May – Motion by Sarah, 2nd by Robin

New Officers:

President: Ken Kinsey

Vice-President: Mary Hill

Secretary: Sarah Muscarella

Treasurer: Dee Jones

Athletic Director: Mike Dunphy

As far as filling all committee positions, we decided to wait and see if there was any interest from new parents.

Important Dates:

8/10 – Freshman Camp (will need people to sell spirit wear and Imp Club passes)

8/11 – Andy Green Scrimmage

8/18 – Endowment Game

Financials:

Dee presented the new budget. We approved the new budget.

Some notes from Dee:

-Dee took a conservative approach to the budget

-Mailed equity out

-Balance sheets look strong

-There are still 4 equity funds that that are substantially underfunded. 3 are in the red. Women’s lacrosse made growth.

-Needs to work on administrative fund with Dunphy

-$6000 increase from last year due to fundraising and equity funds

-Been able to spend to give back to the programs.

-Question was raised as to why men’s basketball is still in the red. The response – they came in, in the negative and there were many expenses this year.

-Accounting and tax preparation will need to move to a cpa firm. Dee will do the sales tax return.

Membership:

Need to update on the website. All members need to have a membership – basic level at the least.

Katche:

We need to update the website as to what levels are available.

We need to order cups.

It was brought up that we should visit the sponsors locations for our Imp Club meetings.

Concerns over Katche were discussed.

Concessions:

More issues with the ice machine. A ticket has been places.

Football used it to make burgers and it looked pretty clean.

Let us know when you want to clean – Maybe the week before the scrimmage (August 11th is the scrimmage).

Need to figure out how to get certified.

Dunphy explained how the grill set up will look. Everything will be secure.

Need to have Pepsi come out for maintenance.

Dine Outs:

Sarah is working on scheduling these. She will contact Freddy’s to do an ice cream bar at the August 31st game. All dates need to be approved by Dunphy. Reminders were made that nothing else should be scheduled at the same time and that all fundraisers need to be approved by Dunphy.

Sports Program:

Miki Turner will be doing this

Spirit Wear:

We still have a lot of gear. Michelle shared the freshman shirt. We discussed adding more novelty items such as seat cushions and license plates. Spirit wear will be available at Freshman Camp. We will order the same amount as last year.

Website:

This needs to be updated.

Started collecting for Campbell Football camp

Put something online to pay for Raffle Tickets.

Rent and Imp:

Many ideas were discussed. We came to the decision that if we do not have volunteers we will discontinue the program.

AD Updates:

Dunphy updated us on the work. They hit a snag with the water line. It is bigger and deeper than originally thought. They are figuring out how this will be handled. On July 7th, the work should begin on the hvac. Sod was installed and looks great! It has taken well. It cost $2800 for 11 pallets. There was a good turn out to the lay the sod. The mower broke and is getting fixed. Sometime in July, sand will be purchased for the stadium field, $1500-$1800.

Submitted plans through Wake County for the Press Box on the Baseball Field

Hall of Fame will be 9/15. Hall of Fame will be inducting 6 members. This will be the strongest class so far. Dinner will be held at the Mayton Inn. The band will not be performing.

Fall schedules are completed and submitted. Winter schedules are completed. Spring schedules are in the works.

We will be piloting a virtual ticket program for Varsity Football Games. More Details to come.
