Grading Points

Quiz...... 20

Written evaluation...... 25

Participation...... 55

Total Points...... 100

The written evaluation is one in which the class participates with another activity class either here at FullertonCollege, or at a fitness facility, and then each student types a one page essay evaluating their experience. Late assignments or work that is not typed will not be accepted.

The quiz is in the form of a crossword puzzle and short answer. Make ups must be arranged with the instructor, and must take place within one week of quiz administration.

It is highly recommended that each student bring a towel and bottle of water to each class. Appropriate dress is required for participation in a fitness class; a good athletic shoe is an absolute MUST for this class. Non-suits will not be allowed to participate. If you are unable to continue attending class for any reason, it is the students’ responsibility to drop the course. If you attend, but do not work out with the class, it will be counted as a non- participation day.

Your participation grade will be calculated as follows:

# Of days of non-participation Points given

2 or less...... 55

3...... ….40

4...... …...25

5...... ………..10

6 or more...... 0

Absences are counted as non-participation regardless of the reason. If you sit out, but attend class, it will be counted as a non-participation day. Make ups are one hour for one hour. You may make up 3 absences, and this must be done by the last day of class.

Academic Honesty

Students are expected to abide by ethical standards in preparing and presenting material which demonstrates their level of knowledge and which is used to determine grades. Such standards are founded on basic concepts of integrity and honesty. Please refer to page 25 of the Fullerton College 2000-2001 Catalogue for further details about Academic Honesty.

Emergency Response Message

Please take note of the safety features in and close to your classroom, as well as study the posted evacuation route. The most direct route of egress may not be the safest, because of the existence of roofing tiles or other potentially hazardous conditions. Similarly, running out of the building can also be dangerous during severe earthquakes. During strong quakes the recommended response is to duck--cover--and hold until the shaking stops. Follow the guidance of your instructor. You are asked to go to the designated assembly area. Your cooperation during emergencies can minimize the possibility of injury to yourself and others.

FullertonCollege is committed to providing reasonable accommodation for students with disabilities upon request of the student (in a timely fashion) and upon verification of disability.
