Director: Antibody production and mammalian cell culture

Crown Bioscience seeks an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to serve as director of Director of antibody production and mammalian cell culture within Protein Science (PS) Division. This person will build and manage a group that will support cell line development and recombinant monoclonal antibody production. Responsibilities include planning and execution of custom production projects, interacting with clients in the design and interpretation of studies and writing standard operation procedures and reports. This person also assumes personal accountability for results and promotes accountability within the organization.

The successful candidate should have a PhD. in a life science field (molecular or cell biology, biochemistry) with extensive experience (5-7 years) in mammalian cell culture and antibody production. Experience in the drug discovery and development industry (Biotech or Pharmaceutical) is highly preferred. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required for this position.

Director: Assay Development/HTS

Crown Bioscience seeks an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to serve as director of assay development/HTS within Protein Science (PS) Division. Director Information Technologies

Crown BioScience seeks an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to serve as its Director of Information Technologies. This person will build and manage the company’s computing systems and networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for the architecture, development and management of our server and cluster environments. Ideal candidates will have a computer science or engineering degree, extensive knowledge of multiple UNIX and Windows operating systems and experience with the implementation and management of various database systems. Large installation systems administration experience, strong programming and scripting ability and excellent communication skills are also required.

Director Bioinformatics

Crown BioScience seeks an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to serve as its Director of Bioinformatics. This person will build and manage a group that will support the company’s translational research division. Areas of interest will include the analysis of genotyping, genomics and proteomics data, DNA and protein sequence database management, and overall bioinformatics architecture and integration.

The interdisciplinary nature of bioinformatics requires a solid foundation in both biology and information technology. The successful candidate should have a PhD. in a computational science (Mathematics or Statistics), or in a life science field (Molecular or Cell Biology) with extensive experience in bioinformatics. Senior Biostatistician – Translational Research

Crown BioScience seeks to recruit a Senior Biostatistician to support its translational research efforts. The successful candidate will have a PhD. in Statistics or Biostatistics with several years of experience working for a pharmaceutical or a biotech company. The applicant should be experienced in the analysis of “omics” data and be familiar with the statistical methodology associated with Mixed Model and with the estimation of False Discovery Rates. The applicant should be able to program in SAS and R, and knowledge of JMP and Perl is desirable. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required.

Senior Biostatistician – Assay Development

Crown BioScience seeks to recruit a Senior Biostatistician to support its assay development efforts. The successful candidate will have a PhD. in Statistics or Biostatistics with several years of experience working for a pharmaceutical or a biotech company. The candidate should have strong training in various statistical methodologies such as mixed effects models, linear and nonlinear regression, generalized linear models and statistical inference, in addition to a quick grasp of various concepts and scientific issues in biological and bioanalytical applications. Some experience in supporting assay development and validation, and in vitro and in vivo pharmacology is preferred. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required.

Senior Scientist – Genomics

Crown BioScience seeks to recruit a Senior Scientist to support its genomics initiative, a part of the company’s efforts in cancer translational research. The successful candidate will have a PhD. in Genetics, Genomics or a related field with several years of experience working for a pharmaceutical or a biotech company. The candidate should have a demonstrated expertise in designing and executing genome-wide profiling experiments (i.e. genome wide SNP association analysis, CGH, LOH, gene expression and DNA methylation).Experience in the field of oncology/oncogenomics is preferred. Senior Scientist- Assay Development/High Throughput Screening

Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our Protein Science – Assay Development Group. The candidate will serve as a leader for the development of both biochemical and cellular assays. The successful candidate will perform high throughput screening (HTS) assays using a variety of platform technologies to characterize early lead. The candidate will also conduct detailed data analyses and present these data to project teams and senior management.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • The qualified individual will possess a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular Biology or a related scientific discipline and at least 2-4 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated competence in utilizing new techniques, procedures, and technologies for HTS is a plus. Experience in developing and implementing biochemical and cell- based assays for protein kinases, nuclear hormone receptors, and GPCR targets as well as a working knowledge of fluorescence technologies (FP, FRET, and TR-FRET, reporter assays) is desirable.
  • The candidate should also:

  • exhibit leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills;
  • be able to work independently and be able to prioritize activities;
  • Excellent communication skills including English (both verbal and written).
