ANSI has extended the deadline for the World Accreditation Day paper competition, allowing all constituents two additional weeks to submit entries before the judging period begins. Paper submissions are now due by May 14, 2010.

New ANSI Medal Honors Contributions to Conformity Assessment for 2010 Leadership and Service Awards
ANSI is pleased to announce that a new medal has been added to the Institute’s annual Leadership and Service Awards. The Gerald H. Ritterbusch Conformity Assessment Medal honors distinguished service in promoting the understanding and application of conformity assessment methods as a means of providing confidence in standards compliance for the marketplace.

BS 9000 Electronic Components Package (Assessed Quality System)
This packagespecifies the general procedures for the BS 9000 system for the specification, qualification, or capability approval, inspection, and release of electronic components of assessed quality. The specifications in this package are applicable to lot formation, release procedures, certified test records, approval procedures, and conformance testing. The system for the assessed quality of electronic components is based on the national implementation of the CENELEC Electronic Components Committee (System for Europe) and IECQ system.
