Cheat arrested by Crime Branch

He was wanted for cheating in Delhi and Hardwar

The Crime Branch, Delhi Police has arrested a cheat in Rohini, Delhi. He was wanted for cheating in Delhi and Hardwar. He used to work as a cashier-cum-clerk in a Nationalized Bank in Hardwar. He defrauded a number of people in Hardwar, before moving to Delhi. Here he joined another notorious cheat named S K Bansal, who is involved in more than 10 similar cases. The arrested person is:

  • Manmohan Puri @ Vinay(39) R/o UttamNagar, Delhi – He is a permanent resident of Kalanaur, Distt Gurdaspur Punjab. He is a graduate from OsmaniaUniversity, Hyderabad. In the year 1991 he joined a Nationalized Bank as a Clerk-cum-Cashier and worked with the Bank till the year 2000. He siphoned off public money amounting to about 20 Lacs rupees from the Bank. Five criminal cases were registered against him with the CBI at Dehradun. Subsequently, two more cheating cases were registered against him at Hardwar in the year 2000 and 2002 respectively. He remained in Hardwar jail and then in Dehradun jail for some time before coming out on bail. In April 2004, he came to Delhi and met the notorious cheat, Sanjay Kumar Bansal, who has more than 10 criminal cases of cheating registered against him. Together they cheated some traders in Rohini and a case, vide FIR No. 359/07 dt. 12.4.07 u/s 306/420/506 IPC PS-Rohini, New Delhi was registered against them. Investigation was taken up by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police. Sanjay Kumar Bansal was arrested on 26.02.06. However, Manmohan was untraceable.

SI. SharatKohli of Special Investigation Team, received information about Manmohan Puri. A team led by SI. SharatKohli including SI. SunilKumar, and HC. Amit among others, was formed to further develop this information.

After sustained efforts the team apprehended Manmohan Puri on 30.8.10 at about 07:15 pm near Metro Station, Rithala, Rohini, Delhi.

Further investigation in the case is on.

THREE MEMBERS OF INTERSTATE GANG OF

AUTO-LIFTERS ARRESTED : TEN CARS RECOVERED

With the arrest of three desperate autolifters of Shahid Gang, the South District police has recovered 10 stolen vehicles i.e one Lancer, one Tata Sumo Victa, one Maruti Zen, two Maruti cars and five Maruti Vans.

ACCUSED ARRESTED:

  1. Mohd. Shahid age 25 years s/o Iqbal r/o H.No. 30-A, Main Road Gujjar Mohalla, Village Chandan Haula, PS: FatehpurBeri.
  1. RaziqueAliage 25 years s/o FazilAli r/o Vill: SikanderPur, PS Kotwali Main Puri UP.
  1. Adil age 22 years s/o Iqbaluddin r/o Village Sikander Pur, PS Kotwali Main Puri, UP.

INCIDENT:

In order to prevent the increasing incidents of motor vehicle thefts and to apprehend the criminals involved in these incidents, several teams were formed in South District. A special team consisting of Inspector Rajeev Kumar, SI Jaiveer, W/SI Kala Joshi, HCs Islamuddin, Sanjeev, Hukam Chand, Satpal, Constables Ram Niwan, Kishore, Vinay and Kausar Mehandi under supervision of Inspr. AtulKumar, SHO/Hauz Khas and ShriMehar, ACP/Hauz Khas was also constituted.

The team so formed worked relentlessly and carried out raids at different places and interrogated many criminals with similar modus-operandi. The informers were also deployed to gather information about criminals involved in this crime. The hard work of the police team bore fruits when it came to fore that notorious gang headed by Shahid might be involved behind these incidents. This information was further developed and on 25.08.2010 a secret information was received that Shahid alongwith his other accomplices would visit VasantVihar area in order to commit a vehicle theft. Accordingly, the team laid a trap near Max Hospital Outer Ring Road. At around 5:00 P.M. the team intercepted one Maruti Car driven by Shahid in which he was coming alongwith his two accomplices Adil and RaziqueAli. On verification the said Maruti Car was found to be stolen from the area of Vasant Vihar vide FIR No. 151/10 u/s 379 IPC. It also transpired that the said Shahid had been declaredP.O. from the Court of ACMM South in case FIR No. 878/06 PS Mehrauli on 18.12.09. Accordingly all the three accused were arrested in case FIR No. 290/2010 u/s 411/34 IPC PS Vasant Vihar.

INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION:

All the accused were produced in the Court and their Police Custody Remand was obtained, during which it was revealed that they all belong to the same area and Shahid had been providing them the information to identify the area for stealing the cars. They all have been indulging in auto lifting and disposing off the same to the unsuspecting buyers in Mainpuri, UP. Accordingly a police party was sent to Mainpuri and Ferozabad Area for recovery of the stolen cars and during the raids conducted at various places police team recovered 9 more vehicles including 5 Maruti Vans, 1 Lancer, 1 Tata Sumo, 1 more Maruti Car and 1 Maruti Zen. So far, 10 vehicles stolen from the areas of PSs VasantVihar, MalviaNagar, MadhuVihar and HauzKhas have been recovered.

PROFILE:

Accused Shahid Quraishi was born in ChandanHolaVillage and has studied upto primary standard.Later on, he left his studies and worked as a cleaner in private vehicle and subsequently he developed the skilled of fast driving. During this period, he started stealing the old and used cars as it was easy for him to dispose off the same in Mainpuri Area. He used to dispose off the stolen car between Rs. 30,000 to 40,000 and expanded his gang by making co-accused Adil, Ekhlaque and RaziqueAlimembers of his gang. Shahid used to take away the stolen cars from Delhi and co-accused used to dispose off the stolen cars after preparing forged documents and in some cases they even used to erase engine and chasis nos. of the stolen car. Shahid is a B.C. of Police Station FatehPurBeri and has earlier been arrested in several cases of auto lifting and has been absconding from the legal proceedings in several cases going on against him in various Courts.

Accused Adil has studied upto Matric standard at his native village Sikanderpur. He became auto mechanic and opened a shop in partnership with Ekhlaque and Razique. He came in contact with Shahid just two and half years back and used to dispose off the stolen vehicles in Mainpuri Belt in UP.

Accused Razique is an illiterate. He also became auto mechanic and opened a shop in partnership with Ekhlaque and Adil. He came in contact with Shahid just two and half years ago and used to dispose off the stolen vehicles in Mainpuri Belt in UP. Ekhlaque, Adil and Razique used to prepare forged documents and disposed off the stolen vehicle in Mainpuri Belt in UP.

GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED

With the arrest of (1) Neeraj aged 20 years s/o Chander Pal r/o Punjabi Basti, Anand Parbat, Delhi; (2) Vipin aged 25 years s/o Hem Chand r/o Punjabi Basti, Anand Parbat, Delhiand (3) Manish aged 20 years s/o Ghan Shyam r/o Punjabi Basti, Anand Parbat, Delhi, Central District police has solved a case of robbery that took place in the area of PS DBG Road on 29.08.10. One dagger has been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT

One Shri Ram Saware s/o ChoteLal r/o Jharoda, Delhi reported that on 29.08.10 at about 7:30 PM, he alongwith his friend Durjan were on their way home on a motorcycle. When they reached near LalSchool, GolChakkar, four boys blocked their way and attempted to rob them at the point of a knife. When his friend resisted, they inflicted injury on his left cheek with the knife. They robbed them of two mobile phones and cash Rs. 6450/-. The complainant raised alarm and the people from the neighbouring jhuggies gathered there and apprehended two of the assailants on the spot. However the other two assailants managed to escape from the spot. Both of them were handed over to the local police. They were identified as (1) Neeraj and (2) Vipin both resident of AnandParbat, Delhi. Accordingly, a case of robbery was registered vide FIR No. 201/10 u/s 394/34 IPC at P.S. DBG Road and investigation was taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION

A team consisting of SI Prakash Roy, HCJaiBhagwan, Ct. JagatSingh (all posted in PS DBG Road) was formed and raids were conducted at the possible hideouts of the absconded accused persons. On 30.08.10, one of the absconded accused Manish r/o AnandParbat, Delhi was apprehended.

All the three accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation in which they disclosed that they are residing in Punjabi Basti, AnandParbat in the neighbourhood. They are fond of drinking and luxurious life and their income was not sufficient to meet with their expenses. So they formed a gang to rob the persons in the lonely places near jhuggi cluster at DBG Road. At their instance, one dagger has been recovered. One of their associates Deshraj @ Deshu is still absconding.

Accused Neeraj and Manish work in a sleeper factory. Accused Vipin works as a salesman. Further investigation is in progress and previous antecedents of the accused persons are being verified. Efforts are also on to arrest the remaining accused and to recover the looted property.

PICK POCKET ARRESTED

One Illias s/o AbdurRahim r/o Motihari, Bihari reported that on 30.08.10 at 2.45 PM, he was on his way from NabiKarim to BhajanPura and when he reached MahajanBuilding, one boy picked out Rs. 20,000/- cash, a PAN card etc. from his pocket. He immediately raised an alarm and the boy fled away. Responding to the same, SI Manoj Kumar and Ct Shyam Lal of PS Nabi Karim in assistance with the public apprehended one Sumit @ Sunil, aged 20 years s/o AshokKumar r/o J-282, Gali No. J-282, Gali No. 4, BagichiAllaudin, NabiKarim, Delhi after a short chase. The stolen PAN card was recovered from his possession whereas the accused managed to pass on the stolen cash Rs. 20,000 to his accomplice namely Veeru who managed to escape. A case vide FIR No. 105/10 u/s 379/411/34 IPC PS Nabi Karim, Delhi has been registered. The verification of the antecedents of the accused Sumit revealed that he was previously also involved in a case of Robbery of PS Nabi Karim.

ONE ARRESTED WITH COUNTRY MADE PISTOL

One Inderjit, 27 years s/o Gokul Prasad r/o Village Nadre, PS Kash Ganj, District Etah, UP was apprehended red handed on 30.08.10 while he was in possession of a country pistol and three live cartridges and one fired/empty case by SI Martin Horo, Ct. Mohan Lal and Ct. Sudesh of PS Jama Masjid in assistance with the public. The accused had fired with this country made pistol on Shahnwaj Khan r/o LaxmiNagar after they had an altercation over a petty issue. Shahnwaj sustained gunshot injuries over his left foot. A case vide FIR No. 60/10 u/s 326 IPC & 27 Arms Act PS Jama Masjid, Delhi has been registered. The antecedents of the accused Inderjit are being verified.

GANG OF ROBBERS ARRESTED
INTRODUCTION
With the arrest of two robbers/burglars namely (1)Rahul S/0 Daya Ram R/0 Vegabond Mahindra Park Rani Bagh Delhi, age 21 years (2) Raja @ Hira Lal @ Sanjeev S/0 Ram Bilas R/0 M-Block Shakurpur (Tikona Park ), Delhi, Age: 22years, a gang involved in recent robberies/burglaries was busted by police of P.S Saraswati Vihar, Distt. North-West, Delhi on 29.8.10. The other accused person namely Kunal @ Anmol S/0 Ram Lakhan R/0 Jhuggi No. L-56/5 Ravidas Camp Shakurpur Delhi, age: 20 yrs. is in jail and fourth accused Pawan S/0 Ram Sanjeevan R/0 Vegabond Shakurpur Delhi is absconding.
INCIDENT
In the evening of 29/08/10, SI Ranbir Singh along with HCPappuLal, HCSomdev, CT Narender received information that two boys sitting near MM public school, RohitKunj, were trying to sell mobile phones. SI along with staff reached there and detained both Rahul and HiraLal, one mobile phone each was recovered from their possession. Both could not give any explanation about mobile phones. On further inquiry it was revealed that both mobiles have been robbed on 21/08/10 night vide FIR no. 318/10 dated 22/08/10 U/S 392/411/34 IPC PS Saraswati vihar.
INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION
On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that Rahul, HiraLal, Pawan and Kunal @ Anmol were recently released from jail. On 20/08/10, all above four criminals robbed one senior citizen in the park of Lok Vihar, SaraswatiVihar, Delhi and had fled away with a gold ring, gold chain, a mobile telephone and a watch. A case vide FIR no. 318/10 U/S 392/34 IPC has been registered at PS Saraswati Vihar, Delhi. It has also been revealed that the said case property was sold to one Ravi of J J Colony Shakurpur who is absconding. Rahul and HiraLal have also confessed that they have stolen cash Rs.49000 from shop No. 164, KapilVihar on the night of 21/08/10. A case FIR no. 335/10 U/S 380 IPC PS Saraswati Vihar has been registered in the regard. Accused Kunal @ Anmol is presently in jail since 29/08/10 in case FIR no. 273/10 U/S 356/379/411/34 IPC PS Rani Bagh, Delhi in which a mobile was snatched. Accused Rahul and HiraLal, have been arrested in the above said cases and efforts are on to recover the case properties. Further investigation is in progress.

He has 5 criminal cases of arms act and hurt against him.
