COURSE Description

This course introduces the culture(s) of the contemporary Arab world through historical, social, political, economic, literary, artistic and religious perspectives. The focus will be on the people, their thoughts and their ways, rather than on their rulers.

The emphasis will be on today’s world, but the course will naturally take into account historical phenomena and their enduring presence in the region and in the culture. -  How the Media such as TV, internet, etc. are utilized in the Arab World.
