Course: TED 6020: COMPUTER APPLICATIONS IN TEACHING(online sections): FALL 2014

WEB AGREEMENT

  1. I understand, acknowledge and accept that I may be expected to participate in small group activities, class discussions, and virtual classrooms as outlined in the syllabus. In case of any emergencies, I will need to get in touch with Dr. Stephens and with the other members of my group. Non-participation in any small group or class activity will result in my being penalized for lack of participation in collaborative assignments and activities.
  2. I understand, acknowledge and accept that I must have the appropriate computer equipment to participate on Blackboard and that computer failure will not be accepted as an excuse for late assignments or lack of participation in class discussions/virtual classroom.
  3. I understand, acknowledge and accept that I need a high-speed Internet connection, either at home, a computer lab, a library, an Internet café, or other location, to view or interact with some class assignments. I am aware these resources are available at all WSU campus and are free for me to use.
  4. I understand, acknowledge and accept that it is my responsibility to check my email and the Bb TED6020: Announcement Page. It is my responsibility to get updates via email and on the course site. I will be responsible for any missed requirements due to NOT checking in at least twice a week. Redirectingcourse email messages to a personal email account is my responsibility. I also know that group collaboration work may be a required component in this course. I agree to be a good team player by checking for postings / messages.
  5. I understand, acknowledge and accept that the current versions of the following programs are required to be installed on the computer(s) I use to complete TED 6020 course activities. I know that I can contact the C&IT HELPDESK at 313-577-4778 to locate the necessary programs. I understand there are links to all of these applications within the course Bb site and it is my responsibility to ensure they are functioning properly on the computer(s) I use for course assignments and activities.
  • A personal computer with Internet connection and speakers
  • A word processing program that reads Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files
  • Adobe Reader (at least version 11) and Adobe Flash Player (at least version 14)
  • Microsoft Media Player 12 AND Quicktime 7 or higher that plays various video files
  • Java (Version 7 or higher)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (at least version 11), Firefox (at least version 31) Safari (at least version 7) or another internet browser of your choice
  • Symantec Antivirus or equivalent virus software (you can download free from WSU-C&IT dept.)

  1. I understand, acknowledge and accept that this online class is not intended to reduce the amount of time that I spend in working on course assignments. The normal class time is factored into the amount of effort required to complete this course successfully.

  1. I understand, acknowledge and accept that I must have the necessary basic internet and computer skills to take an online class, including but not limited to: locating web sites, downloading documents, sending & receiving email and attachments, if any.

To confirm your agreement, understanding and acceptance of the aforementioned statements, students will complete an online assessment within Blackboard as verification. Students will not be allowed to proceed with any other course activities until verification has been secured.

A contact telephone number, preferably a cell telephone number, will be requested to provide Dr. Stephens with a way to contact you for clarification, follow-up on assignments or other course related items, issues or concerns. The cellular phone number will not be removed or recorded outside of the Blackboard test itemresponse site.
