Jelf and Ageas announce winners in the 2017 Local Business Charity Awards

Jelf and Ageas, sponsors of the 2017 Local Business Charity Awards, have announced this year’s winners.

Following the event held at the National Star College, the awards, founded by Jelf in 2014 to recognise the support given specifically by Gloucestershire businesses to the county’s local charities, revealed their 2017 winners.

The winners were:

Winners of the Jelf Award – for charities who have an annual turnover of more than £100,000 a year

Winners of the Jelf and Ageas awards will win £1,000 each, to be donated to the charity who nominated them. The winner of the individual award will win a weekend away to the value of £250.

Sponsors Jelf and Ageas announced a surprise award on the night, the Mayor’s Award. Mayor Klara Sudbury was given £700 to give to a local charity of her choice who, because they are part of a national charity, or provide services outside of Gloucestershire, were not able to enter the awards themselves but still give tremendous support to people in Gloucestershire.

CEO of Jelf and Bluefin, founder of the awards Phil Barton said,
