Job Summary:

The Commercial Controls Specialist will need to be self driven, organized and an effective communicator. Their duties will include, but not be limited to: supporting contractors and co-workers with control systems, working with Crescent product groups to develop contractors and engineers, and promoting the bundling of control systems with equipment system sales. The specialist will be part of a team that develops and implements an annual marketing plan. After receiving a controls project, the Specialist will be responsible to support the engineering of the job, cad drawings, control sequences and/or support of the job implementation.

Primary Job Activities

  • Support contractors with controls projects; enable contractors to become self-sufficient in this area.
  • Establish rapport with customer to ensure customer satisfaction and continued sales relationship. Handle all customer requests professionally and efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all vendors
  • Establish and maintain a network of other Crescent employees who will be a part of the control support groups.
  • Help to increase sales, gross margin dollars with assigned vendors.
  • Assist with the development of a marketing plan for controls with the controls manager including training and marketing

Technical and Business Skills: The person in this position would need to develop

a basic understanding of:

  • Cooling and heating systems principles including forced air, hydronic and other HVAC systems.
  • The ability to read wiring diagrams and Blue prints
  • Refrigeration cycles, duct design, and airflow systems.
  • Computers and be proficient in programs such as, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook, a cad program, and other industry-related software.
  • DDC design, pneumatic, electric and electro-mechanical controls.
  • Control strategies and the sequence of operation for control systems.
  • Have the ability to teach others.

Credentials and Experience

College Degree in an engineering major or certification from a TechnicalTrade school

Minimum of five years of HVAC or software experience

Minimum of two years of Commercial Controls experience

Proficiency with computers and programs

General knowledge of IT and BAS-DDC experience is a plus

Work Environment

The person in this position may need to go on job sites into motor rooms, on rooftops, into control rooms, etc. with contractors and other customers.
