Classroom Pets

Ms. Daisy’s class has decided to purchase some classroom pets. The students can’t decide what pets they want to purchase or who will be responsible for their care and feeding. Ms. Daisy’s class has 30 students. They decided that before they got started collecting money, they should determine how many students were interested in purchasing pets. Next, they should figure out how many students actually have money to donate.

Part I:Martha (a student in Ms. Daisy’s class) wanted to lead the students in the process of getting a pet. She decided to take a pencil and a piece of paper to lunch. She asked each of the girls in their classroom if they wanted a pet and also what pet they wanted. She got these results:

He passed a note to all of the boys. It directed them to meet him after school because Martha was trying to take charge of the pet situation. They boys met after school and Rodney collected this information.
