This is managerial work in planning, designing and implementing research and training programs. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

  • Designs and ensures delivery of training for all topics in the assigned area.
  • Develops plans for research projects and training programs with emphasis on education.
  • Initiates and carries out research and training programs.
  • Prepares professional papers and reports on research projects for presentation and publication.
  • Acts as resource and clearinghouse for the collection and coordination of research, statistical and staff training data and literature.
  • Consults with agency officials on in-service training programs.
  • Represents agency at professional research, training and development, or job-specific conferences, enforcement personnel.
  • Performs related work as required.
