Dear Parents

School Mass: Years 1 – 6: Thursday 22nd September at 9am at St Peters Church. Children should arrive at church at 8.45am. Parents and Grandparents are very welcome to join us. Volunteers are needed to help walk the children back to school. Please note the change of date.

Children in Reception Class will not attend Mass and should come to school as usual.

Maths Workshop for Parents: Tomorrow, Wednesday 21st September. Key Stage 2 5.30pm – 6.30pm, Key Stage 1 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Please note it has been necessary to swap the times of the sessions.

School Uniform: It is lovely to see the children enjoying the mild days so far this term and wearing gingham dresses and polo shirts. Please note that when we return after half term the winter uniform is compulsory. For boys this is a white shirt and school tie, for girls a grey skirt or pinafore with a white shirt and school tie.

Own Clothes Day: This Friday, 23rd September, children may wear their own clothes in exchange for the forfeit of a blue or yellow bedding plant. Please do not send plants in colours other than blue or yellow.

Harvest Assembly: This will be led by the children in Years 2, 1 and Reception at 9.30am on Tuesday 11th October. All parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.

Harvest Party: An invitation has been sent out to the Senior Citizens of both parishes to attend our Harvest Party on Tuesday 11th October at 1:30pm. Please can you give consideration to helping support this event by:

Donating a raffle prize –(bottle of wine, tinned biscuits, fancy goods)

Giving sandwiches, cakes etc, for the afternoon tea

Providing transport to Senior Citizens who are unable to walk to school

Helping to set up the hall, serve the tea/coffee and organising the distribution of raffle prizes.

Ark After School Club: Places at the Ark are fully booked every day except Friday. If, on occasion, a session is not required it would be appreciated if you could email the Ark so they know a place is available if urgently required.

School Admissions 2017: If your child’s 5th birthday falls on or between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018 it is time to make arrangements for a primary school place for Autumn 2017. Applications need to be made on-line at then search school admissions. The closing date is 11.59pm on 15th January 2017. In addition, parents putting St Peter’s as a school of their choice MUST complete a supplementary form obtainable from the school office if they wish faith criteria to be used.

Birthday Lunch: The cook would like to invite all children whose birthday falls in August and September to a Birthday Lunch on Wednesday 28th September. The meal is the hot or cold meal of the day with the addition of a cake, balloons and hats. The lunch is covered by the Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, however there is a charge of 50p to cover the ‘birthday extras’. The price of the meal for Junior children is £2.20 or children may bring a packed lunch and join the table for 50p, including the cake, hat and balloons. Please complete the reply slip and return by Friday 23rd September to reserve a place.

P.T.F.A: A.G.M. – Wednesday 28th September at 7.00pm in the school hall. Members for the year will be re-electedat the meeting and events for the year planned. We would like to invite any new parents who are interested in helping organize events and in getting involved.

Macmillan Coffee Morning: Please support three Year 6 parents who are organizing a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Thursday 29th September, 9am – 1pm in St Peters Parish Hall. They would appreciate donations of cakes from the children in Year 6 on Wednesday 28th September.
