CentralKansasMentalHealthCenter (CKMHC)is a multi-county (5), licensed community mental health center with 100 + employees, $ 7 million budget, 3700 square mile area. Counties include Dickinson, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Ottawa and Saline. CKMHC is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director in light of a pending retirement.

Position Profile for Executive Director

The Executive Director is hired and supervised by the Board of Directors. The primary responsibilities are the provision of effective leadership in the formulation and achievement of CKMHC’s vision and mission, operating philosophy and values; successful operation of the center in the provision of the comprehensive state-of-art services; on-going development and achievement of a strategic plan which maintains CKMHC’s positioning for continued success and, facilitation of the Governing Board of Director’s successful fulfillment of its governance function.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Management skills which demonstrates competence in personnel administration, center operations, and business administration.
  • Knowledge of the Public Mental Health System.
  • Leadership skills which demonstrate organization, planning, good judgment, reliability, initiative and the ability to work with others formally and informally.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively relate to clients, their families and the public in a positive way.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to work with various computer software programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Successful candidate will have a master’s degree in behavioral or public health with direct clinical experience. Current or former eligibility for licensure by Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board is preferred.

Must have a minimum of 8 years of administrative experience (with progressive levels of responsibility) and demonstrated executive ability in the field of mental health and live in catchment area.
