Dear Donor

The Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club is a non-profit volunteer amateur radio organization that provides public service communications throughout the Central Alberta region. We provide emergency communications services to the municipal, provincial and federal levels of government, search and rescue organizations, event communications to sporting and non-profit groups and train and test amateur radio operators for their Industry Canada amateur radio licence. Over 40 C.A.A.R.C. club volunteers spent over a week providing communications at the Pine Lake Tornado and more than 35 members provided communications coverage for 48 hours at the Red Deer train derailment evacuation. C.A.A.R.C. supports the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Response Team in Central Alberta.

C.A.A.R.C. owns and maintains a network of linked radio repeaters near Nordegg, Rocky Mountain House, Red Deer, and Stettler as well as digital communications links in Red Deer that connect to Calgary and Edmonton.

For the last 46 years the Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club has hosted an annual picnic and campout for amateur radio operators from across western Canada that provides an opportunity for provincial amateur radio groups to meet and coordinate provincial and inter provincial communications. C.A.A.R.C. hosts meetings that are attended by amateur radio operators from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and occasionally other areas of North America that coordinate emergency communications throughout Alberta.

The Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club is seeking donations for door prizes at the 47th Annual C.A.A.R.C. Picnic. Donors will be recognized at the event draws, on event posters and publicity as well as on the Central Alberta Amateur Radio Club web sites in both Canada and the U.S. A donation to the C.A.A.R.C. Picnic draws will provide you and your organization with an opportunity to connect with a technically aware audience.
