General Information

Please remember that this year’s Caravan serves as a pilot for future adoption years. As is the case with any new venture, we very well may identify some areas which need improvement before the next Caravan, and I will welcome your suggestions. This year, however, your flexibility and spirit of cooperation will be greatly appreciated by all involved.

Even though facilities will vary from location to location, we will be as consistent as possible. I have provided a brief description of each site. Please note that neither electronic equipment nor Internet service will be provided. You may provide your own Internet service if you have a personal wireless broadband adapter. You should also plan to bring equipment needed to demonstrate digital/electronic materials. When demonstrating digital resources, volume levels should be kept low to avoid disturbing the presentations of other vendors.

Light refreshments and beverages will be available at each location. If you plan to offer mementos to participants, it is your responsibility to know and observe the ethics guidelines. These guidelines are posted for your convenience on the Instructional Materials website on the Code and Policies page which is located under the Adoption Process button.

The format of this year’s Caravan will be reminiscent of an open house. Teachers will arrive at different times and stay for different lengths of time. Each participant will be asked to sign in and will be given a guide to the day’s event. They will rotate from publisher to publisher for personalized presentations that meet the need of each group.
