Camp ASCCA 2017 Theme Days

Are you counting down the days until camp? Can’t wait to see what cabin you’re in or who your counselor is? We know you are and we can’t wait either!! But before all of that you need to know what the theme for your session is. This year we’ve come up with new themes and new spins on some special days that we know are going to be a hit. In the description below your session and theme you should see if the dress up is for the dance or for a separate evening program, please note that if it’s a dress up dance additional dance clothing will not be needed. We would love for you to participate but please don’t feel like you have to go out and buy any costumes!! If you have any questions regarding themes, costumes, or programs please feel free to call Amber (Cotney) at 256-825-9226 ext. 229 or email at can’t wait to see all of you!!

Session 1 (July 2nd-7th) Stars and Stripes-Children with Physical and/or Intellectual Disabilites & Epilepsy (6-21 yrs. Old)

We love 4th of July here at Camp! We love fireworks and BBQ and everything that comes along with it. But we do get a little bored with the same ole American Flag shirts we wear every year to celebrate the holiday. So this year on July 4th we’ll all have a decision to make…do we wear stars or stripes.

Session 2 (July 9th-14th) Flintstones vs. Jetsons- Adults with Intellectual Disabilities (19+)

Jump in the Camp ASCCA time machine and go to the past or venture into the future. Be a Flintstone and dress up like someone from the past or be a Jetson and dress up like someone from the future.

Session 3 (July 16th-21st) Teen Week: Theme Days- Teenagers with Physical Disabilities (15-25 yrs. old)

Marvel Monday- Show love to your favorite Marvel character.

Tie-Dye Tuesday- We know you love your tie-dye, show us what you got!

There’s no reason to be afraid of monsters at camp!! We’ll prove it by dressing up as our favorite monsters for a dance that’s sure to be entertaining!

Session 5 (July 30th- August 4th) Camp ASCCA Mysteries- Mobile County Residents

Get ready to help us solve the many mysteries of Camp ASCCA… there’s no reason to bring any costumes we just need your help and enthusiasm.

Session 6 (August 6th-11th) Pirates & Mermaids- Young Adults with Physical and/or Intellectual Disabilities (22-35 yrs. Old)

Are you a pirate or a mermaid? Go all out and show us in your best costume or just show us by wearing a patch on your eye and your favorite Ariel t-shirt. Whichever side wins will be the ruler of camp for a day!
