Call for Concept Notes

J-CCCP Project Suriname

The National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)calls for interested parties to submit concept notesfor the Japan-Caribbean Climate Change Partnership (J-CCCP) grants.

Background

The J- CCCP, launched officially in January 2016, aims to support eight Caribbean countries in advancing the process of low-emission risk-resilient development by improving energy security and integrating medium to long-term planning for adaptation to climate change. In the pursuit of this objective, the initiative will support policy innovation through the development of a number of mitigation and adaptation strategies based on the contributions that Suriname pledged through its INDC’s. The J-CCCP will also support the implementation of actual technology that is both low-emission and advances climate risk management, including demonstration in the target countries.

This call for concept notes is to solicit civil society organizations and NGO’s to put forward proposals that will help the J-CCCP to undertake a preparatory procedure to select four pilot projects. The maximum grant amount per project is USD 50,000.00 for a duration of up to 16 months from approval of the project proposal.
