Boston University – Online Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Organizational Continuity

Boston University is offering an online Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Organizational Continuity. The program is designed to meet the requirements for advancing the education of existing professionals while simultaneously allowing the professional to continue with their full time career. The emergency management program enables those individuals with a management or executive focus to learn and implement the multiple aspects of emergency management for both the public and private sectors. The Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Organizational Continuity will focus on understanding the psychological and social components of an organization.

Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Organizational Continuity courses:

MET MG 610 Introduction to Organizational Risk and Crisis Management in Public and Private Enterprise (4 credits)

MET MG 611 Social and Psychological Elements of Workplace Disruption (4 credits)

MET MG 612 Public Emergency Management: Structure, Systems, and Goals (4 credits)

MET MG 613 System Wide Compliance, Planning, and Strategy for Emergency and Continuity Management (4 credits)

Matriculation is required for all students, including those who do not intend to complete the certificate. Students may begin the program by taking MET MG 611, MET MG 610 or MET MG 612.

Upon successful completion of the Certificate Program, students may apply to a unique BU master’s degree program offered through Boston University Metropolitan College to earn an online Master of Science in Emergency and Organization Continuity Management. With departmental approval, students may also use MG 610 and MG 611 towards a classroom based Master of Science in Administrative Studies. Successful completion of the Certificate Program will not guarantee acceptance to master’s degree programs.
