Valentinesday

Thinking outside the chocolate box! What gift will you bring to your loved one this Valentine’s Day?How about a gift of your time and attention? This initiative is inspired by The Joy of Love, a letter from Pope Francis to the world, where he emphasises the fundamental importance of time together and personal communication as foundations for a love that lasts. So instead of buying a gift for each other, couples commit to time together – a meal, a walk, a remembrance of how we met, and so on. Given that St. Valentine’s day falls this year on Ash Wednesday this is a good year to think outside the chocolate box!A special blessing for engaged couples will be recited on the weekend masses.
