JOB TITLE:Engagement Development Manager

DEPARTMENT:ADPH

SALARY:£32,000 - £33,500

HOURS:Full time

CONTRACT:Permanent with probationary period

ACCOUNTABLE TO:Chief Executive, ADPH

Job Purpose

Develop membership and stakeholder engagement

Manage the ADPH work programmesupporting Directors of Public Health (DsPH)

Supervise and direct Project Managers and Administrators as required

Key relationships

ADPH President, Honorary officers and relevant policy groups

ADPH Network leads and co-ordinators

Directors of Public Health across the UK

Accountability and reporting

Accountable to the ADPH President and Honorary Officers through the Chief Executive

Principle responsibilities

Engagement

  • Maintain the ADPH database of members and stakeholders and ensure it is valid, comprehensive, and fit for purpose
  • Develop annual Communications and Events Plan and direct and manage its delivery by Project Managers and Administrators
  • Develop ADPH communication and marketing products
  • Take overall lead for the programme of regional events and national conferences, workshops Masterclasses etc., including evaluation, and ensuring outputs and feedback are captured and inform future work
  • Undertake surveys and other research across the membership as required to ensure membership input and ownership of outputs
  • Explore potential for external grants and sponsorship of events taking account of the ADPH sponsorship policy
  • Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with potential external partners in order to add value to ADPH work and avoid duplication

Supporting DsPH

  • Gain an understandingof the role of the DPH and their teamin order to provide support for the development of professional practice
  • Develop and manage appropriate support for ADPH Networks
  • Develop and manage national support for regional sector-led improvement
  • Gain a strong understanding of PH system issues and co-ordinate ADPH input to initiatives eg workforce, funding, structures etc

Management

  • Manage programme budgets and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Supervise and direct Project Managers and Administrators to ensure delivery with consideration of skills, experience and balanced workload
  • Undertake a project management role for other initiatives as required

  • Continually develop knowledge and skills in relation to Public Health
  • Uphold the values and objects of the Association at all times
  • Hold to the core public health values: equity; empowerment; fairness; inclusiveness; effectiveness; evidence-base
  • Act according to Nolan's seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership with respect for all others and the environment
