OVENU IS JUST THE PILL FOR DONALD

19/1/06

Ovenu, the UKoven valeting service, welcomes former pharmaceutical workerDonald Cairnsto the company as its new Ayrshire franchisee.

Donald, 55,previously worked for major Ayrshire pharmaceutical company, Roche, for many years, but wasn’t ready to give up work when he took early retirement.

Based in Irvine, Donald will cover the whole of Ayrshire including Kilmarnock and Ayr.

Ovenu’s environmentally friendly valeting service involves dismantling key components of an oven including the door, interior panels, fan and shelves. These parts are then placed into design-registered equipment, which uses non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes about three hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.

Donald said: “The Ovenu franchising model has been increasingly effective since it began six years ago. Franchisees located in the rest of the UK are already proving to be highly successful, with growing customer bases.

“My aim is to establish the business in the area, which shouldn’t take long as the Ovenu brand is becoming well known throughout the UK. Ultimately, I’d like to expand the business and create jobs for local people wanting to earn good money in a niche industry.

“I recently took early retirement from my job in pharmaceutical processing, but wasn’t ready to put my feet up.

“I’d been looking to go into business for myself for years and my wife had been complaining about cleaning the oven. The next thing I knew we discovered Ovenu and the franchisee opportunities available and thought it was a great idea.

“Being my own boss is the biggest plus about owning an Ovenu franchise and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and valeting some ovens.”

Rik Hellewell, managing director of Ovenu, said: “As our survey confirmed, people just don’t have the time to carry out mundane tasks such as cleaning the oven. This need has been highlighted by our success in other areas of the UK and I’m sure that the Ayrshirepublic as well as schools and letting agents will take up the service.”

People in Ayrshire and the surrounding areas who feel that their oven is in need of the service can find out more by contacting Donald on 0870 880 1222 or by visiting
