***IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ACTIVITY FEES FOR CLUBS AND FIELD TRIPS***

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As most of you know,we are required by Arizona law to charge an activity feefor extracurricular activities.

Arizona tax law, A.R.S. § 43-1089.01, allows individual Arizona taxpayers a tax credit of up to $200 and joint filing taxpayers up to $400if they contribute to extracurricular activities in Arizona public schools.

Extracurricular activities is defined as school sponsored activities that require enrolled students to pay a fee in order to participate. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, field trips, running club, choir club, student council, service club, safety patrol, etc. Generally, any educational or recreational activities that supplement the educational program of the school are considered to be extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activity fees have been posted or will be posted on our school website as the club or field trips are determined. Click on this link to review current fees being assessed. – Current Extracurricular Activities

If you make a tax credit donation contribution, your donation will cover these fees. You do not need to pay additional monies for these activities and/or clubs. Let me give you a couple of examples regarding how this works:

What Is A Tax Credit?

Contributions to public schools have always been tax deductible. A tax deduction allows you to subtract the amount of a contribution from the amount of your taxable income. The new law, however, allows a tax credit, which is subtracted from the amount of taxes you owe. A tax credit is a full refund of your money provided you have a tax liability equal to, or greater than, your donation.
