Ancient Greece Dinner Menu

In order to learn more about the Ancient Greece, you will be placing your order to consume one main dish and one side dish from this exquisite menu. If you are still craving extra credit, try out one of the dessert options on the back of the menu.

Main Dishes (Select One)

1. Research the history of the Olympic Games. Prepare an Animoto, Voicethread, or PowerPoint presentation to discuss its history and importance in Greece.

2. Many myths have been written about the Greek gods. Develop your own myth about their latest adventure or problem. You must research and include at least 2 Greek gods or goddesses in you myth.

3. Research a famous Greek historian or philosopher. Develop a news article or Glogster storyboard to explain your findings.

4. Compare and contrast the Athenians and the Spartans. Develop a commercial where you persuade others to join your city-state and why your city-state is superior to the other. Props and/or a costume are required for your commercial.

Side Dishes (Select One)

1. Design a set of 10 trading cards about the Greek gods/goddesses. Each card should be at least 3”x5”, have a colored picture, and include at least three facts about the god/goddess.

2. Design an illustrated timeline that contains at least 10 important dates. Each date must include an image, and have at least two sentences explaining why that date is important.

3. Develop a booklet including at least 15 Greek root words. Each page must include one Greek root word, its meaning, an illustration, and five words containing the Greek root word.

Desserts (Extra Credit)

1. Research a typical meal that a Greek family would eat during this time period. Develop a menu and at least 2 recipes, including a list of ingredients with measurements for each menu item.

2. Develop a game board about Ancient Greece. You must include 4 themed game pieces, 25 colored/themed squares, 20 activity cards, and a set of rules for playing the game.

3. Take on a role as a famous Greek person. You must cover at least five important facts about his/her life, and have props and/or a costume during your presentation.
