Job Description:
The temporary Service Coordinator is responsible for the following 3 key areas:
  1. The day-to-day coordination of service delivery, administration, team leadership and supervision of staff within Day Program and Creative Support Services in compliance with Excel Society’s policy and procedures
  2. All intakes, internal and external, within the Calgary Program
  3. Overall administration and Supervision of Relief workers; will ensure that direct support is provided so that the Relief Worker has the necessary tools and knowledge to provide quality support; responsible for the scheduling of Relief Workers based on needs within the organization
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Ensuring that all Excel Society policies and operational procedures and all applicable standards are met.
  2. Participating as a member of the On-call rotation.
  3. Facilitating service delivery including training and support to Creative Supports and Day Program employees, contracted operators, and/or respite workers.
  4. Ensuring all Community Support Workers facilitate a Client Individual Support Plan process for each client on his/her caseload.
  5. Ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed and submitted by the Creative Supports employees and/or contracted operators and/or respite workers as it pertains to their job description responsibilities or contract agreements.
  6. Recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, and evaluating all Creative Support employees and/or Supportive Home Operators(SHO’s)- contracted individuals
  7. Ensuring all Community Support workers are appropriately oriented, trained, confident and competent to safely support clients during crisis situation.
  8. Ensuring that required client documentation is completed as necessary and ensuring that mandatory training for SHO and Respite Workers is completed as necessary.
  9. Managing Referral and intake process.
  10. Tracking of new client referrals and supports individuals and their teams through intake process.
  11. Conducting presentations to referrals and other community/service agencies.
  12. Assisting in the Orientation of new employees to their roles, responsibilities, and job duties within the organization.
  13. Providing ongoing feedback to Relief Workers regarding performance, and ensuring the completion of their Annual Performance Reviews.
  14. Creating and maintaining all schedules for community residences on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure consistent and reliable information pertaining to bookings is available to Residential Coordinators as well as Program Managers.
  15. Developing and maintaining a current Relief list for On-Call use.
  16. Ensure all new employees have access to Catalyst and also deactivating employees who have separated from Excel.

Qualifications:
  1. Applicable Degree or Diploma in the field of Human Services and/or Rehabilitation and a minimum of two years supervisory experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  2. Maintain current certification in First Aid & CPR.
  3. Satisfactory current criminal record check.
  4. Word processing and experience working with Excel spreadsheet programs.
  5. Efficient time management, stress management and behavior management skills.
  6. Have considerable knowledge and understanding of persons with disabilities.
  7. Good planning, organizational problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  10. Vehicle with insurance coverage as per policy.
