Affiliated Player Procedure for All Teams

  1. Novice or Tykes players can not affiliate with other teams except Novice A to Novice AA.
  2. Atom AA can only affiliate with Peewee AA if they have taken the Hockey PEI certified checking clinic.
  3. Players may only affiliate with one team.
  4. Players can only affiliate to a higher level team

-Peewee Rec can AP to Peewee A , AA, AAA, Bantam Rec, Bantam A, Bantam AA

-Atom A can AP with Peewee Rec but Peewee A cannot AP to Bantam Rec, etc.

-Once a Peewee Rec player plays one game with one team (ex. Bantam Rec) they cannot AP to another team

-If Affiliating to Matrix AAA (or Matrix Female AA) they must have a completed Special AP Player Form with association signature, as it is outside our association

-If after January 10th a player plays 6 games with team to which they are AP then they can no longer play for the original team

  1. Procedure for using AP player

-Complete Special Player AP Form including all signatures and submit to Hockey PEI via League coordinator.

-Contact team official (manager / coach) to make sure there are no conflicts with Team events

-Contact player / parents about playing.

-Complete game sheet and add player to roster with (AP) beside their name.

-Repeat steps 2-4 for each game player is playing….permission for one game does not give permission for the entire season.

-**New this season** - the AP procedure is not complete until the player plays their first game with the higher level team. If a player is not used by the team to which they are signed, they can make an application to AP with another team. Forms must be resubmitted along with a letter of application to hockey PEI for approval.

  1. Goalies – there are special provisions to AP goalies across the same level in cases of emergency. This happens most frequently at the “A” levels when there is only 1 goalie / team and they are away or injured. The procedure to use a goalie from another team is as follows:

-Contact League Coordinator about the situation with justification for using goalie from another team (in most cases the Provincial Coordinator will also be involved)

-Use lower goalie as first option if available.

-Goalies from our own association must be first choice if available

-Goalie used must be carded as a goalie on their respective team.

-Follow the Procedure above for using AP player.
