Comments/Explanations

Jamie Bayliss advised Stewards that he would be unable to fulfil his engagements today due to illness. Jamie Bayliss was advised that he must submit a medical certificate prior to riding again.

RACE 1 – BIRD CAGE TAVERN 2YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE–900 METRES

Lunatel proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning has been placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

Princess Atilla was slow into stride (1L).

Morgatoche raced wide throughout.

Rounding the home turn Princess Atilla had to be steadied off the heels of Wild Diva which shifted in slightly.

Ismail Toker rider of Peace Keeper pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137(a) careless riding in that near the 150 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Morgatoche making contact with and unbalancing that filly resulting in Boris Thornton having to restrain his mount. Stewards deemed the interference and carelessness to be of a medium level and after taking into account his guilty plea, his recent record and that Ismail Toker is returning from injury, his licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 Tasmanian race meetings to commence at midnight 8 April 2015 and to expire at midnight 19 April 2015.

Victor Wong rider of Princess Atilla pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii), the particulars being that he used his whip on 6 occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres which is 1 more than the requirement of the rule. After considering submissions on penalty and taking into account Apprentice Wong’s recent record in relation to this rule, he was fined the sum of $200.

RACE 2 – TASBONUS NOMS CLOSE 30 JUNE 2YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE - 1150 METRES

Apple Green proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning has been placed on the filly’s barrier manners.

Becerikli jumped away awkwardly then shifted out bumping with Ruboni and became momentarily unbalanced.

Krake jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with Gee Gees Talk Fest.

Sentinel raced greenly in the early stages.

California Love raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400 metres Becerikli was held up for clear running.

Apprentice K Maskiell rider of Rubonipleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(4)(c), the particulars being that he continued to usethe whip when out of contention.After considering submissions on penalty and taking into account Apprentice Maskiell’s recent record, he was fined the sum of $200

Kyle Maskiell rider of Ruboni which performed below expectations explained that the filly travelled well and in his opinion would derive benefit from today’s run.

RACE 3 – TASSIE BRED BANCA MO MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE- 1650 METRES

Kadann jumped away awkwardly.

Nuclear Hero was slightly slow to begin and was then tightened for room between Family Ty which shifted in and Pint Of Pain.

Pint Of Pain over-raced in the early stages.

Dream Roller raced wide in the early stages.

Pint Of Painraced wide throughout.

Rounding the home turn Nuclear Hero shifted out carrying Family Ty wider.

On the latter part of the home turn Dream Roller was momentarily held up for clear racing room before obtaining a run to the outside of Dance Thru France.

Nuclear Hero raced greenly in the home straight.

Dance Thru France laid in approaching the 200 metres momentarily inconveniencing Charloch.

Near the 200 metres Nuclear Hero shifted out abruptly bumping with Family Ty.

Bloodshot laid out for the majority of this event.

Kyle Maskiell rider of Nuclear Hero pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii), the particulars being that he used his whip on 7 occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres which is 2 more than the permitted number. After considering submissions on penalty and taking into account Apprentice Maskiell’s recent record, he was fined the sum of $400.

RACE 4 – FREE EASTER SPRINT- 1150 METRES

Flash Al Moon was declared a late scratching at 2.15 pm when the mare could not be re-shod. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Flash Al Moon to be refunded in full.

Incat and Am I There Yet were slow to begin (1L).

Espry raced wide throughout.

RACE 5 – TASRACING BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP- 1150 METRES

The start of this race was delayed due to interstate race meetings running behind time.

Shortly after the start Sid The Sloth was checked when tightened for room between Lustica and Magestic Impulse when both horses shifted ground.

Shortly after this, Poucher was tightened for room between Big Tilly which shifted out and Magestic Impulse.

Approaching the 800 metres Wills Hope had to be steadied off the heels of She’s Drahmatic (NZ) (Victor Wong) which shifted in when racing ungenerously resulting in Wills Hope shifting wider and inconveniencing Royal Bluff. Victor Wong was notified to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

Magestic Impulse raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 100 metres Lustica shifted out under pressure.

Sid The Sloth had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the concluding stages.

RACE 6 – CLASS 1 HANDICAP–1000 METRES

Stewards granted permission for Daniel Ganderton to ride Tangerine Queen ½ kg over the allotted weight (55kg).

Alpine Angel was slow to begin (1L).

Arapid Squaw jumped away awkwardly.

Royal Knave knuckled shortly after the start.

Himation raced wide throughout.

Near the 900 metres Tangerine Queen was tightened for room between Jonolly Lass which shifted in slightly and Efleet which shifted out slightly.

Passing the 400 metres Royal Knave had to be steadied when attempting a tight run to the inside of Tangerine Queen which shifted inwards slightly.

RACE 7 – SIMONS DESIGN CENTRE EASTER CUP– 1880 METRES

The Producer and Queen Of Eight were both slow to begin (1L).

Approaching the 400 metres Rose Of Innocence, when attempting a run to the outside of The Producer, made contact with Lingo.

RACE 8 – SPORTSBET-DOWNLOAD THE APP BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 1350 METRES

Mr Fashion underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field.

Nuclear Star jumped away awkwardly.

Cuprona Road laid in near the 200 metres and continued to lay in under pressure for the remainder of the event.

Boris Thornton rider of Magnetic Queen which performed below expectations explained that the mare travelled well in the run however failed to respond to his riding from the 600 metres.
