Please include a brief paragraph for each nominee describing their achievements in the project area they are being nominated for—we use this information to select award recipients.

Achievement awards are to recognize 4-H Youth that have shown outstanding achievement in their project area and participation at the local, county, state and national levels, as well as having demonstrated exceptional leadership and citizenship qualities in their project areas (i.e. mentoring new club members or leading or participating in club or county level activities).

Recognition Night will be in February. These awards are being given for the 2014 year—unless otherwise specified, Juniors are members ages 8 to 13 on January 1, 2014 and Seniors are members ages 14 to 18 on January 1,2014.

Environmental Science/Natural Resources Project Achievement Award

This award is sponsored by the Izaak Walton League whose mission is to conserve, maintain, protect, and restore the soil, forest, water, and other natural resources of the United States and other lands; to promote means and opportunities for the education of the public with respect to such resources and their enjoyment and wholesome utilization. Project areas for this award include are not limited to conservation, forestry, safety.

Leadership Award(the 4-H Youth who uses their leadership skills in the club and helps lead other 4-H members in a positive manner) / (“I Dare You Award” - The Senior winner will receive a full scholarship to attend an Out-of-State Leadership camp)
Community Service/Citizenship Award Given by the Gaithersburg Equipment Company to a Senior 4-H Youth in recognition for outstanding service to 4-H at the club, county, state, and national levels in project areas, community service, and leadership. / (Lawson King Award)

Friend of 4-H AwardRecipient—this award will be given to an adult/group/organization, not a 4-H Leader or Volunteer, who has worked on the county level to assist 4-H members and 4-H programs in an “Above and beyond the call of duty” manner.
