1.purpose of the job

Establish and manage a new eBay shop, as an additional medium for selling donated/ fashion items.

Establish and manage online storefronts for other potential retail outlets

Contribute to the profits of the Retail and Trading department by running a cost effective and efficient online and distribution service to internal and external customers.

2.KEY OBJECTIVES

Stock management and distribution

  • Establish effective stock management processes, ensuring strong control measures are in place.
  • Proactively control the movement and storage of goods, allocating and monitoring stock to meet changing needs and with the ability to predict trends.
  • Provide equal allocation of donated goods throughout the Wood Green retail network.
  • Organise, store and distribute new goods.
  • Liaise with Shop Managers to ensure the efficient and appropriate provision of stock to maximise sales.
  • Establish and maintain controls to ensure effective stock rotation throughout the Wood Green retail network.
  • Research and develop new sources of donated goods for resale.

eBay

  • Oversee, grow and develop the current Wood green eBay operation, proactively making suggestions for improvement and to maximise sales.
  • Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and understanding on how to utilise eBay to best effect and to generate profit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of designer and high end fashion to enhance visual merchandising and to generate income to agreed targets.
  • Lead, train, recruit eBay volunteers to ensure a high level of customer service is provided.
  • Ensure the Wood Green eBay shop front meets required standards and that all sale items are accurately listed.
  • Monitor eBay feedback and issue responses as appropriate.
  • Monitor eBay payments to ensure monies are collected in a timely manner.
  • Provide reports and statistics on eBay sales as required and regularly monitor sales targets

  • Create and maintain Wood Green accounts on Amazon to maximise the online sale of books and media
  • Research other online marketplaces to identify new opportunities for point of presence
  • Attend Wood green events as required.
  • Recruit new volunteers for the Retail and Trading Distribution Centre, working with Volunteer Services to ensure the volunteer recruitment process is followed.
  • Pro-actively review other opportunities to sell online.
  • Keep up to date with the latest online trends and technologies

  • Maintain and improve professional competence by attending training courses, study days and conferences as appropriate.

  • Understand the fire regulations and action to be taken in the event of fire.
  • Report any accidents / incidents at work and record adverse incidents as appropriate.
  • Understand that preventing healthcare acquired infections and infection control is the responsibility of all staff and that infection control policies and guidance must be followed at all times.
